If you are based in Newcastle then Extracta must be quite near you. They build a good machine. I f you are looking for a really powerful portable take a look at Cross- American.

If I was buying a portable I would ONLY buy an extracta exel
http://www.extracta.co.uk/exel.htm
why I recommend them who only knows, but they build a very robust machine as far as portables go, I used them for twenty plus years, Jihn and Brian are "very" helpfull.

The Eclipse machine which is imported by solutions uk is well worth a look, 500psi and 3 vacuum motors makes this a top line machine.
The first batch are now here in the uk so expect more info and reviews in the next week.

What's the difference between this and a Recoil?
I believe the vac positioning is different and I know to have a heater on it you will need at least 2 cables or will it be 3, then you have to take into consideration size and weight, I believe that both are with good suppliers so parts will not be an issue what about warrantees?
