Title: How are we coping with the high winds?
Post by: philboy on March 11, 2008, 08:30:06 am
I managed to use my 35ft pole in 80 mph winds yesterday :o, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but I don't think I'll try any higher than that. What about you guys, how high can you go?

If you take the spinnaker off it's not too bad.

GoFish

I am just about to head out,.

Best bet in this weather is to go and do your new jobs first, it sets the tone right from the start.
"Expect me anytime"

Its not too bad at the moment just a bit gusty

Yeh... it's just cleared up here.

I'm just about to load up, and set off .

Winds picked up again though, but it's at least dry.

Well, I managed to almost clean my days quota - just 4 customers down.

I lucky, as most were tucked away in dips out of the wind. :)

This is really grim weather though....  :(

Not going up the ladder today. Gusts are too unpredictable here.

i'm on the south coast, and i thought today would be better.
wrong!!
sun's out, but winds are over 40mph and its gusting at nearly 60mph.
all my current work is on the seafront, and its to dangerous to even attempt it, believe me, i tried this morning and suddenly realised that the colour of adrenaline is brown :-\
so at this moment in time i'm stuck inside bored and frustrated cos i'm not out earning!
 >:( >:(
surely this has gotta end soon??

The sun is shining here now but no work today. I lost a customer recently because they said it wasn't worth having them done, I sympathise with them, I wouldn't want my windows cleaned either if they were going to be just as bad in a couple of hours.
I will work in moderate rain as the job is usually OK, but I don't think it's fair to clean windows during stormy weather.
Just go out and clean your van windscreen, then inspect it 3 hours later.
I live half a mile from the sea, but even with an offshore wind the windows are minging next day. Dai
