yes i send emails out all the time targeting commercial work. below is what i put down.. all i can say is it works for me. ive picked up a lot of work this way.
Dear Sir/Madam,
marks Window Cleaning Service'
I have recently invested in a new technology that enables me to perform external window cleaning up to 4 floors high, all from the safety of the ground. This system works by using lightweight carbon fibre poles and highly purified and deionised water that when dry leaves your windows clean and smear free. Because I stay on the ground, many of the normal health and safety concerns are a thing of the past, and it also means reduced disturbance.
Because this system does away with ladders and expensive access platforms (And the risks involved with their use) I am confident that I can offer savings, and improved results when compared to your current cleaners, and would enjoy the opportunity to provide you with a quote.
'Marks Window Cleaning Service' is a local company(skegness based) and is fully insured.
If you would like me to quote for any of your window cleaning requirements, or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on( tel number) or via e-mail at MARKODARE@BTINTERNET.COM
Best Regards
Mark Odare

i just put for example hotels in skegness (where i live) in to a internet search engine, go on to each hotels contact details and get the email address from there. it works the same for whatever kind of business your targeting.

thanks mark a great tip cheers alan

That is a good tip Mark,it`s canvassing from your front room that what a good idea.

Have you ever got anything from it ? I normally delete junk mail, I get 100's a day, I am not knocking you by the way just interested to know what you get back from it.

If a recipient reported it to your ISP, you could lose your account over it. UCE (unsolicited commercial email) is regarded as spam. Better to do a snailmail mailshot or telesales just in case. Even with telesales there is a list called TPS where there are numbers registered not to receive calls. To phone sucjh numbers is a breach of regs. I still get calls such though, but it has reduced them in number.

i have picked up a lot of work from my emails. a school clean, 7 apartment blocks on a local development plus there builders cleans, the peir in skeg, 8 b+bs. 2 shops. 1 solicitors, and a dentist plus several more. i think people are used to getting emails nowdays. i always say in the title window/sign/fascia cleaning. so they know straight away what its all about.
as with all emails you get, you look at the title and if your not sure or intrested you delete it straight away.
like i say it works for me, and if you have a website always put a link in the email for it, it makes you look more pro

Its an excellent idea mark, your email is first class, intelligently worded. Once i have a website i will be using it if thats ok with you.

thats fine mate. feel free
