Title: Veteran or not quite !!
Post by: Straker Cleaning on March 07, 2008, 05:42:31 pm
Quote from Doug Holloway ......"I would suspect for every 100 who start only 1 will still be in CC in 5 years."

Got me thinking as to how long i have been doing this job  :o

1982 i started in the game and went solo in 1989 ............. be interested in how many have been doing this for more than 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 years etc !!!

Hi Chris

Started Marks and Spencers , Saturday job at head office in 1971, did that for 10 years.

1982- 86 CC business in  London

1989- Now CC business in Essex .

Suppose that must make me an 'old git'

Cheers

Doug

Cleaned my first carpet 1979, and officially became self employed 1980.

I was put in my place good and proper on Tuesday. My barber was on holiday, so the shop manager cut my hair. Afterwards he wanted to charge me the pensioners rate :o :o :o

Safe and happy cleaning :)

4 years ago when on holiday near Poole, went to a National Trust house, man on the gate took full money for me and the wife but gave 2 Senior tickets (do you think he was on the fiddle ::) ).
Took the tickets back to the car, gave them the wife and told her to take a look at them.
She was not very happy, ...... and I mean not very happy.  >:(

Remember the Remington Razor adverts with Victor Kaim with the tag line "I thought so much of the product I bought the company".

My business was extablished in 1989 and I bought it from the owner in 1999. Best thing I ever did. :)
