Used these guys for van insurance, included breakdown recovery too. Good job aswell, needed it at the weekend!!

Insure system separate from van, and combined it with liability ins, Darwin Clayton. Wasn't cheap but well worth it.

im with e-van as well best price i could find for my berlingo,

thanks for the good advice!! but also what i mean is when im getting insured on my van they ask me about the tank aswell obviously it will cost more due to the high risk of havin a s@@t load of water behind you that could kill me,
when u say insure it sepraetly does that mean that other insurance will cover me on the tank if there was an accident???

evan insurance, cheap and very good service, all policies done online. Breakdown cover for a fraction of the price of the AA and RAC.

I insure it separately because the A-plan wouldn't cover the value for my system, plus I think they also have an issue if it is not an ionics crash tested system.
You obviously don't have to insure the system, but if you don't and you have a serious accident then there is the possibility that your system may get damaged beyond repair, or worst case scenario there is a fire :o
All depends on personal circumstances really, if its a DIY system, you may decide its not worth the extra money to insure, but personally I wouldn't take the risk.
