all the shops round my way are pretty sewn up but i look out for change of owners / new shops opening etc then try to get in first. other comercial jobs have come via yell.com. signed van with commercial on it helps as well just park in town centre in view of shopkeepers.

Why all the rush for commercial work?
I,ve held commercial contracts for 15 yrs...mainly sheltered housing for the elderly, first of all I can,t get the above rates suggested on my contract jobs as indicated on a  previous thread( 4 bed detached one), We can,t work on them in the rain(the residents would vote you off), we have to provide health safety/environment/equals/employers insurance/attend meetings etc.....IF YOU CAN EARN ANYWHERE NEAR WHAT AS BEEN SUGGESTED ON THE THREAD YOU WOULD BE COMPLETLY F,KIN MAD TO EVEN CONSIDER GOING THROUGH ALL THE ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS TO EVENTUALLY WASTE YOUR TIME IN QUOTING AS THE TENDERING PROCESS IS SO COMPETITIVE  YOU WOULD NOT ACHEIVE THESE PRICES AS LONG AS I,VE GOT A HOLE IN MY ARSE!!

agree with that commercial is no where near as the supposed earnings of domestic and it is competitive as i have learned. what i am targetting is early morning work so iam earning before i start domestic so at least iam earning something because as you say above if i could earn that sort of money i wouldnt waste my time with commercial
