As far as I understand The Plymouth Brethren and some other religions do not have TVs, radios, newspapers, books, recorded music (except their own) or even the internet. This is to reduce their exposure to bad influences and so reduce temptation. If I am wrong then please let me know.
I use to live in Bristol near to one of their large meeting places. There was a street near it that was 90% owned by PBs. As soon as a house there came on the market they would pay CASH. They all helped each other and apart from not speeking to anyone (which anoyed a few people) they were well behaved, quiet, clean living people.
