hi,im trad at the mo,and changing over to wfp v shortly,i posted leaflets to all my custys explaining the change.i was cleaning (trad)today and a chap said me changing to wfp concerned him,he had spoke to the company who had fitted his windows and they had said that wfp can potentially damage the seals/beading! i said i had never heard this b4,has any1 ever heard or come across anything like this? +how do i just post a ? without having to choose options and voting polls e.t.c.

That will be the company trying to offload responcibility. WFP does nothing to the beading/rubber.

if you were jet washing the windows, yeah, you might damage the seals.
But wfping a window is no more, if not less than the pressure of rain.
if the seal is broken already, I guess WFPing might get some water inbetween the panes, but like i said, that would only be if the seals are already shot.

if he is like that now get rid he will only moan later!
when i started a house it was rendered painter said to the owners my water would cause mold! as they seem easily swayed i left to find someone else to clean their windows!

It is in it's simplest terms....just water...without the additives that come out of a tap.
Some alu frames are suspect to oxidisation, not all but some.

In the larger firms that make glass and double glazed units, they clean the glass in pure water tanks. so I don't think that it harms the seels.

Spot on,how can a brush and water damage the window`s,what an idiot saying it can.

Also, when it rains, the rain water can have tds reading 000, which makes it pure water.
So if pure water break downs the seals on double glazed units, then everytime it rains, all you windows drop out. ;D

I've got one customer who's claiming that my water is going up inside the lintel (steel) and then making rusty waste water come out and staining the cill. This little thinks he's going to lumber me with this well he can think again - I'm dropping him until he sees the staining get worser, by which time I will be dead so it will matter even less.

I have been accused of causing damage to sealed double glazing units a couple of times but its not true. Its just that its guilt by association, you clean the windows.
There is the apparantly true story told of a man who took his car to a garage for a service. A week later he comes back complaining he had a puncture a few days later and he wanted the garage to replace the tyre for free.
Nothing would convince him the two events were unconnected.
"I've been driving for thirty years and never had a puncture, then you service my car and three days later my tyre gets a nail in it. It has to be your fault!"

Some people said they didnt want me to clean because they though that the wfp was a pressure washer! I explained that it is just 100psi at the most and now I clean them, Luke

Personally I'd avoid telling them that it's 100psi as some domestic pressure washers work at 100psi and they will clean your pavement and strip paint.
The 100psi rating on the pumps we use only means that any pipework and valves we connect to them needs to be capable of withstanding that pressure when the valves are shut off. When they're opened the water flow is nowhere near 100psi even when set to max.

I just say it has a continual flow of water pumped through it to wash the dirt away.

Are you confusing PSI with BAR regarding pressure washers?

A friend of mine owns a window factory and his window cleaner uses WFP, The 100psi is the switch pressure when the flow stops but will be considerably less when the water flows. tap pressure is about 100 psi and a jetwash is usually 200 bar (3000 psi)
