Hi Guys

To all newbies 'listening in ', avoid all these companies who ring you promising a pot of gold.

Cheers

Doug

best advice i think anyone has ever posted on here, these companies keep coming back year on year with new names for themselves every year.

Although I cant vouch for Trust a Trader, these people do seem to be different in that before you can advertise with them you have to have professional membership, insurance, and they contact a number of your customers. The idea is that only vetted traders can be on their site unlike others. Its one off fee of about £400 and it is way of getting on the revered google first page, but there is nothing they do which you cant with a bit of work. Other than that I dont know much about them.

Nearly went with Check-a-Tade last year until we got down to the nitty gritty.
For an organisation that only won't tradesmen who they can check to ensure they have done a great job at various locations, they then wanted £800 just for a basic listing. If you wanted an enhanced listing, build you a web site blah blah blah it was nearly £2k.
They got told to stuff off too. But not told to stuff off with as much vigour as those who call from the Liverpool, St Helens, Manchester areas with the help the ambulance/fire/police campaigns via wall planners, diaries, colouring in books etc.
You have been warned.

They are back. Ufindus are now under the wing of Customer Street www . incorporating ufindus, smile local, moreuk.com & customer street trades. seems to make no difference, still got no work from it

Since stopping my Yellowpages advertising I dont get calls from these types of companies anymore, Not only have i saved thousands on Yellow but these scumbags have stopped ringing aswell apart from Trust a Trader which was a one off I think.

I have not had any other calls for a long time.

I've managed to stay under the RADAR from these people.... until this week.

I take it as a good sign though as the company profile increases.

Has anyone tried the similar scheme which is actually run by some county council's trading standards department?
