Title: did interviews to day
Post by: ronnie paton on February 22, 2008, 08:06:06 pm
had 6 young lads to interview today and 2 look promising, im going to take them both out for half a day to see which one i want.

but im still put off due to the cost of employees insurance (£650) has they may only last 4 weeks.
so it got me thinking mayb there is a scheme that helps pay towards your insurance???has you are taking another unemployed off the streets, so does anyone know of any??

I enquired about this last year and you need to employ someone off the new deal scheme to qualify for the money.

Go to the Job Center and ask them about New deal they will pay you £75.00 per week for the first 26 weeks if you give them 30 hours per week .... it takes the sting out of getting staff that may only stay for 6 months or so this is for the long term unemployed which many seem to be these days

Some people will say they are long term but do really want to work I have 2 at the moment

This is the scheme i used and the money i got went towards the insurance licence and extra equipment for a small business like mine the extra money they paid it was a godsend and the guy lasted 6 months so it meant i didnt lose out anything

You go to the job centre and register for the new deal scheme and then they send people out for interviews but beware you mostly get people that dont really want to work and are only on the new deal scheme so they continue to get the dole money

Ronnie,

There is help out there if you take someone off the dole, they will pay their wages upto 20 weeks if I remember. I know the one in Scotland but do not know who runs it in England.

Looked into this many moons back and you had to garauntee that they worked either 16 hrs or 30 hrs.

You then get a lump sum when they complete it.

There are also deals going around if you are just starting out self employed, do a couple of courses, business plan, then they will pay for your wfp equipment ;)

There is also funding for business growth ;)

My insurance broker offered me employees cover for £95 ish per employee, plus public liability for £80 ish per employee - so approx 180 per employee, better than 650!

Simply business. I have p/l insurance for £290 which is a all singing all dancing policy. It will cost me another £300 to add e/l insurance to this. All on direct debit.

hi ronnie, there is a deal through the job centres that if you take an unemployed person on through new deal they pay you £70 a week and you have to pay the wage of the guy you start, i think they pay you this for 6months.  They explained it to me last week.
