Title: Safety harness

I need to get a safety harness for going onto a roof of a school that has a metal safety line to attach to what harness do i need and it also needs a safety certificate do these come with it when new and then need updating periodically never had to do this before so am completely out of my depth any help would be great with pictures for the dumb

Some thing like that Aspects but the most important part is the fall arrest bit.

Can I suggest you call in to your nearest safety shop, someone like safety direct and ask them loads of questions and get to see the rig before you buy it. They range in price over here from about €80. 00

The safety wire you connect to on the roof should also have been certified at least annually, you should be able to find the cert record somewhere on the wire. Don't use it if you are not happy it has been tested.

Does anybody know if i have to inform my insurance co and do i have to do a training course or anything like that??

hi dean, not sure if you need to, but i am in the same situationas you with a good paying commercial job so have booked on this course might get slated for it but its another string to the bow and £170 for 3 years is fine by me.....all comments welcome!!!
