Title: Keeping it local - is this a record?
Post by: Phillip Mold on February 22, 2008, 09:07:23 am
Yesterday I did one job and two quotes, total distance travelled 4.3 miles !

Getting fed up with diesel prices, its costing me £45 per month now!

Hi Phillip

I'm doing communal stairs where I have a flat, hence this post.

Cheers

This week I have done 6 jobs without leaving leaving the premises!

When the customers bring the work into you, thats when you're laughing!

As a rule anyway, we try not to travel further a field than 10 miles unless it is for a large job.

In the run up to christmas, I did jobs in five houses. Total distance travelled from home and back, 500 metres.

You need to convert your truckmount to LPG

Thats not bad Paul, Dave Washbrook told me my t/m will use about £5 per hour and it does. My diesel costs have gone up since going back to a transit. They've got to be the slowest thirstiest vans on the road :'(

Yesterday I did 5 jobs, no estimates, travelled about 60 miles.

Spend around £70-100 on fuel for my van alone every week, plus another £30 or so feeding the prowler.

I wish I lived in a high rise, congested, smog filled conurbation as well where travelling was minimal..............not.

I prefer having views like this on my days on the road  :D

Joe,

Still got the cottages, still some availability if anyone is interested.

Still got the bike hire as well, in fact we've had quite a few out these last couple of weeks with the school holidays.

I do loads of work on Holy Island, normally take the dog with me and make a day of it.

Windy !?!?!? A slight tussling of the hair all that is ;D

Travel where ever the work is as long as the price is right, been doing a couple of pubs in North Yorkshire maybe hour and a half travel but worth it ;)
