Can anyone tell me what they would expect the life and costs for the following:
Producing 400 ltrs a day, how long would a 4040 memberane last??
How long would 11ltr DI last before resin was needed to be changed??
What would the approx yearlt cost be of resin for 400ltrs a day, 11ltr DI and coming out of RO at 10 TDS?
Thnaks

After RO at 10ppm producing 400ltrs a day a sack of resin would easily last a year probobly more, you might even get away with half a sack of resin.
-
Thanks.
Is a sack 25kg?
If the resin lasted, say, a year at 10 ppm, how long would you expect a 25kg bag to last if it were, say 30 ppm??

You would get approximately 125 days work out of a 25kg sack of resin processing water at 10 ppm. At 30 ppm you would get approximately 41 days work from a 25 kg sack of resin. These figures are based on using 400 litres a day and a single resin canister.
You also asked how long a 4040 membrane would last - this would be entirely dependent on how hard your water was and how well you maintained the membrane. In average conditions, flushed regularly for each fill and with the pre-filters changed regularly you should easily get 2-3 years.

Alex
Thanks. I am in a very hard water area Cambs, but have a water softner so all water into RO is softened.

No offense alex, but that is simply wrong.
2-3 years from a properly maintained membrane? Don't think so.
On what are you basing this information? Your own window cleaning experience? If so then you are not maintaining your membranes properly.
And membrane life is not "entirely dependent" on local water hardness.

Hi TennetClean
No offense taken and I hope you take no offense from my reply :)
Saying 'that is simply wrong' is simply wrong.
I did not only say that a membrane life is entirely dependent on the water hardness, I also linked it with 'and how well you maintained the membrane'. Please read properly before commenting.
I did say that 'you should easily get 2-3 years' and that is true. You may well, if you maintain it properly, get twice that amount or if you maintain it poorly, only get half that amount. This is not based on my own experience as a window cleaner but as a supplier of replacement 4040 membranes to a wide client base.
I also think that I answered Andrew44's original question in a helpful way, unlike your comment which hasn't helped anyone :D

LOL it takes a lot to offend me, I'm thick skinned.
With the rest of them on the factory line
LOL the factory. Would that be your living room then?
In all seriousness, joking aside now, I think its good that there are blokes like you who seem to be constantly at the beck and call of a forum like this to answer people's questions, so much so that people start topics "alex, what about this". I also think its very admirable that you dont use cleanitup as a means by which to sell your gear.
Its also very commendable that you operate like a proper business and dont use a public forum to keep people informed about when they're poles will arrive and if there stuff has been sent or not.
Oh wait...
