getting some new biz cards done I can get the back printed for free but don't know what to put on it.
I was thinking of something a bit abstract, something that has nothing to do with carpet cleaning, perhaps an inspirational quote or a nice nature photo.
any ideas?

What about "poo happens" :)
-
Personally I'd put something on there that's likely to bring in some money.
-
what about a pic of your self with a shirt and tie on waving

John thats on the front!
I want to do something that will make them more likely to keep the card, I'm already getting some recommendation cards made to give to customers when finish a job these will be a biz card with a recommendation token on the back eg; "give this to a friend or family member and you'll both receive a £10 discount
but the other biz card is for just general use, maybe I'll put a 12mth calender on the back or local important phone numbers.

I thought it mite be

Are there many mirrors in your house ;D

Just had a look at the pile of cards i've collected. Only a few have something on the back and nothing there that makes you want to read the 'B' side.
My brother who works for a council in Wales probably has the most logical one. English on one side and Welsh on the other. Perfect use of two sides of card.

Just put the HAND :o :o :o on Mike

How about some sort of loyalty scheme like the coffee shops use. It might take the customer 18 months- 2 years to earn anything but at least they are more likely to keep the card so you'll always be recommended to family and friends.
PS, they are far more likely to keep the card if you lose the picture on the front :P :D

Mike I.m not takeing the p-ss but what about the floodline 0800 number , surely that would help

Hi
What about:
Please keep this card, it's worth £x.
If a job arises from this card, you get x% commission.
This sort of thing was used to great effect by an american company who invested in real estate, they made the card worth $1000 if the deal went through and that person introduced.
You card gets kept and jobs may arise from it.

What about tile cleaning.

I have seen some that have space for writing appointment date and time or other notes on the back. Our dentist has one like this and quite often when you book in a job after a visit it's good to write the appointment down for them, so that they don't forget!!!
The last cards we had printed had carpet cleaning on one side and window cleaning on the other and worked very well. Unfortunately now there are more than just two arrows in the quiver so I need to rethink them and may go with the above.

How about my details?
-
What about a basic "first aid "for spillages etc
-
My contact details on the front, my list of services on the back.
-
If its costing you no extra why not sell the space to somebody else? get another local companies details on the back and get them to put some money in and dish a few out for you.
Are you not still pressure washing that could go on back?
If you are looking for a way to get them to keep the card i would scrap the calender idea as everybody does it and use a conversions chart
you know the type of thing that tells you
how many feet to a metre, and how many pounds to a ounce etc

been thinking about putting the wifes company info on reverse...........
share the cost!!
-
Better still, put the wife's vital statistics on the reverse!
Woops.....wrong business!!!!!
-
