havnt seen you in a long while on the forum
your last post convinced me youwere alive
can i ask how you get such free movement in the classic vid
demonstrating the clampless?
for now im using skyblue 20ft braided 6mm id
ive a pretty huge hole bored out at the very base of pole
but i can not get near the ease of extending that you got
what hose dimensions were you using?
looking forward to your new pole

Hi Jikwan, The hose I use is a 10mm outside diameter. What you might find is the clamps are causing some friction between the pole sections? I would think if you had no clamps the pole would go up and down a lot easier.

no no im using skyblue kitepole no clamps
almost identical with your demo model
outside dia 11mm
hell whats an extra 1mm?
maybe its because its winter an the hoses are stiffer
thought you might have been using 8mm outside dia
friction is in the very base
ive inserted a rubber "cushion" at the base same as nat jones
probably try a hard plastic washer in that base to reduce friction
i reckon its a critical factor regarding speed

Try some teflon spray on the sections,.. it normally does the trick! Also the weight of the brush makes a big difference to this kind of pole,.. I've found about 400 grammes is perfect.
-
nat
that teflon sprays going to have some heavy usage
specially in winter with all the earth mud etc getting inbetween the sections
im having to thouroughly rinse those sctions every day
might give it a go though
cooking stuff i guess it is

jikwan, why not make the hole on the bottom bigger?
Nathanael might have something with the brush, the one I use on that pole is very light I think about 350g total including the bar and valve. A heavy brush would have the sections pressing against each other more, causing more friction.
The new pole won't have the problem of sections sticking.

Can't wait for the MKII pole Peter,.. but even now, clampless is all I use,.. WAY FASTER!
-
Jikwan are you using a parallel telescopic or a tapered telescopic ?
Peter glad the new forums up again !
-
tapered for sure its skyblue
im using v light bently aprox 300g

I currently using one of Peters poles its well made with a reinforcing collar/ring on the top of each section.

Peter glad the new forums up again !
Me as well Jeff, it has caused quite a few problems but hopefully it will run smoothly from now on.

Yes it definitely is the way forward, I don't know how anyone can be bothered clamping and un-clamping poles.
I don't bother pushing them yet as I am waiting on the finished product being ready for the market.
