Got a new job today.
It hadnt been cleaned at all they where a right state !
As it was a first clean i got my ladders off the roof.
You should have seen me, I was like a man of 80 going up that ladder craping myself incase i slipped or fell !
When i was trad i used to zip up the ladders, whats happened!!!!

Me too!
Its really weird coz I used ladders for 10 years, used to bump them across to reach other windows, jump accross onto porches and slide down the ladder for my dismount, now if I go up I brick myself.

told ya ;) thats why i dropped all the buildcleans,to much like hard work and scared me witless.got some fascia next week ,i remember when i used to look forward to them...now i try to find someone else to do em :-[ pathetic really but it dont take long to lose your confidence on em

I still go up a very long ladder twice a month for access, just to keep familiar with it, lol

I know exactly what you mean. You get ladder shy.

i know what you guys are saying but i will live by this if i get to scared to go up a ladder i will not force myself. as it is time to look for alternative method or change jobs simple because fear can get you hurt and i have seen guys bricking themselves whilst going up the ladder only to injure themselves

For me i don't mind going up ladders one floor but anything higher i crap my load.
I don't know if its because im getting older and have more sense or what.
But a few years ago i would not think anything of going up 2 floors like on blocks of flats walking along ledges.
Actually some of the things i used to do thinking back on it now makes me cringe.
But when i first started window cleaning all the window cleaner were doing the things i used to.
