we have just started the cleaning of a dental surgery that has vinyl in surgeries and laminate in reception. throughout the site there are really bad black scuff marks on the floor mostly on the laminate. I have only ever sealed floors a handful of times and wondered can you use it on laminate? another problem is the laminate is in bad shape with gaps of 1-4 mm in places.
will sealer stop the scuffs and if so can i use it on laminate and finally what is a good product.
cheers

Hi Karl,
Sealing the flooring will not stop the scuff marks but you will be able to rub them off with a green pad. This would work well on the vinyl but i have never sealed laminate(don't know how effective it would be) and with the gaps in the floor i would suspect not much good. Also if you seal you really need to buff as an unbuffed seal will last no time and will look worse as it wears off.For a product i would mabye try your local Bunzl supply depot. Hope this is of some help,
Regards,
Ron

Laminate is not designed to be sealed. There are plent of laminate floor maintener products out there. Check out your local supplier, I found Bunzl to be expensive. Be careful what pads you use on laminate, most marks will come off with a cloth and a bit of elbow grease.

cheers for your help, seems the 100 odd scuff marks will have to be scrubbed daily....never mind its not me doing it.

your gonna laugh at this one, but i`ve been doin it for years,
you want a walking stick with a none marking rubber end(the gray ones), you can use them like a rubber and just rub the scuff marks off. Without causing any damage to the floor
