Post by: marcusj on February 14, 2008, 02:17:55 pm
Could anybody recommend solution that will clean and steralise a fridge.

1. Get rid of mould
2. Kill any bacteria.

Thank You.

Hi

Mould on fridges comes off fairly easily, except on the rubber seal.

I usually spray with a hard surface sanitizer and leave for about 15 mins before cleaning it.

i take all rack, shelves out first and wash seperately at the sink and let them dry naturally.

Go back, start at the inside top and work down, using toothbrush to get into the grooves (or John tavolta if he's around) don't forget around the seal, use steam gun if you have one.

freezer, once defrosted, take out drawers, spray as above, clean as above.

Spray and clean outside, not forgetting the door handles.

You can get odourless cleaners and you can even pick up fridge and micro cleaner, a little tip, when the fridge is empty ready for cleaning place a boiling pot of water inside the steam will soften any spills making them easier to remove, the same goes for microwaves.  If you place a small amount of bi carb in the fridge it will absorb smells.
