Dont know whether Pete or Jason have thought about doing a second hand link for the day.
Let me explain.
If any body going to the day has got anything they may want to buy or sell( used) .
Put it up on this thread as a want or a for sale, then the guys concerned can bring them down on the day.
-
Good idea Paul.
-
That Paul Moss ................... not
even just a pretty face ;D
-
I'll start then.
Fantastic open jetted Ashby's stainless steel hand tool. Ideal for upholstery and stairs. Used about 5 times.
Cost about 95.00, still under warrenty. First half decent offer and it's yours, or will swop for similar closed faced tool, will pay the extra cash.
-
Gary form Hampshire wants to swap an open jetted hand tool and would like anything pink.
Chris would like to swap his Bay City Rollers album for an eco friendly petroleum refinery.
Jason would like to swap anything of his for anything of Pete's.

It's got to be me. I have the shirts for the job.
Chris, can we talk about your session?
-
Is that the massage session ;D ;D
-
Thats a private issue between Chris and I Paul. ;D
I am signing off to be hetro for a few hours so you'll just have to do without me.
Scallops in a lemon/parley butter sauce, crab cocktail, tomatoe salsa prawns, all on crostini with an avocado and bacon/spinach salad. Thats whats she's getting tonight (and yes, feel free to excite yourself on your own elaborations of that last comment).
So if you have any cooking questions just ask. S0 don't me ask for any advice on carpet cleaning, ring Mossy (thats what I do)
-
Jason all because you are 'lording it' about me sending monies to you don't assume that I give it away willy-nilly! no you can't have £12.50 and you can keep your carrot in the back of your van!! :o
Shaun
-
Hi Shaun,
Take it thats a no deal then ;D
Ok mate Mossy can have it.
All the best,
Jason.

You can have my TM when Straker sprouts thick curly hair on his head ;D

-
Jason,
i think that by asking someone for money for that mpower you are a disgrace to CC industry.
Richie.
-
I will have it......... free or not ........... bought up all the stuff left behind when Peter Reed passed away.
Will keep me going for another year at least .......... just enough time to win this years awards :o
I understand some people cannot get on with it but when you get it working right ........... it is awesome on jobs ;)
-
Chris
I've got half a tub of mpower as well instead of buying it off us why not show us how make the stuff work , instead of a porty ve truckmount competition do a mpower ve detergent one
John
-
Jason, £12.50 is a deal, bring it with you,I look forward to giving it a go.

Good idea John. Perhaps we'll try it with and without hot water too.
-
John,
Using it is as simple as reading the label and following instructions .......... i have never used it anything other than 120:1
as labelled.
Versus detergents is worthless as well, not a competitor but an alternative ............ only valid example would be to see resoiling in 6 months or reactions from allergies caused........... as this is how i market difference.
Last used up my detergents about 18 months ago and have survived in the game since then ........actually thriving on the non detergent path as that appears to be the way my customers want things done now.
-
Today I got a call from a care manager (a lady). Care Home part of a group and I have done 3 already, the 2nd one - she was manager there but I think she is a trouble shooter and moves around getting other homes in the group ship shape.
They have Rug Doctors at each place and use them frequently for spills and trying to keep the corridors and rooms up to scratch.
Got to go and see a home on Monday afternoon, she wants me to go in and use what I use (microsplitters - MPower and Nemesis Super mostly) to get rid of the residue detergents in the carpet.
She can obviously see a benefit in using microsplitters and not detergents.
Like Chris - makes good business for me.
-
People often say the resoiling issue has not been proven but one of my customers had TM cleaning done 4 times a year at their offices ........... i now do the carpets with HWE or LM (where appropriate) and apart from the fact the new methods results were noticed by all .......... the carpets are now done every 4 months.
Very happy that i have saved them 25% on their annual carpet cleaning budget ............ that is about £2500 a year, story is mentioned in upcoming Cleaning Matters issue ........... you can't miss it ;)
-
does that mean you've done yourself out of £2500 worth of cleaning as well ;)
oops ;D
steve
-
He got himself a contract for £7500 a year - not bad
-
Joe and Steve,
Your not concentrating, the £2500 is the budget for the year. I'll be covering listening skills in my session (in fact thats what its based on).
Chris
I still feel there is merit on the comparison between M/S and detergents as it's by and large an unknown difference. You sorted your presentation yet? I need to proof read to see id it stands up ;D

Pete
I read it again, you gonna have to explain.
-
Joe is correct .................... even though i have 'done myself' out of £2.5k ........................ the concept of a company saving money, on the annual cleaning budget, has lead to another job on a similar but slightly smaller scale :-X
I can market my service as green and money saving ;D
Pete,
Give me exact time allowed and i will put words to paper to fill it ::)

I understand what you're saying Chris,
You're saving the customer money by offering a clean that re-soils over a longer period. Thus only having to clean 3 times a year instead of 4 (in theory).
As well as this promoting a cleaner working environment.
Sounds good to me, forget the short term losses. Look to the long term (as you are) and the gains are there to be had.
Still need to be convinced on the m-power thing, Trevor Woodman who ran the ccdo last year swore by it, I dont doubt him at all. Said he got excellent results and believe him.
Perhaps its a t/m thing. Since buying one cant be bothered to use anything other than spray down, slight dwell (possible agitation if bad enough) and extract with tremendous heat and pressure giving excellent results.
I'm however open minded and will look at other methods ;)
Looking forward to talking to you on the ccdo ;D
All the best,
Jason.

Maybe its the way what Chris said is being viewed by us readers.
I view it as he was NOTdoing the TM job 4 times a year at a cost of £10000 to the company.
He gets an opportunity to do the job with his machine, presume portable and/or LM, and they like it.
Because of the quality of his clean - needs only doing 3 times per year, thus a saving of £2500 pa to the company and £7500 in Chris pocket.
-
Ha ha ha. What a Pratt I am. It was me that read it wrong sorry.
-
Not used a TM on carpet tiles for a long time but i do remember it was never as easy as whizzing round with Charly pads ........... and the workers in office noticed the clean when i had done it .......... office manager said that it had not been commented on in the previous 4-5 years.
Depending on time of year, offices are sometimes being used at weekends as accountants base....... so it does not get in the way of normal running for skeleton staff with noise, moisture and security on unmanned reception.
The concept sold my service to the office manger and the results keep the contract ;)
ps .............. Apologies for ....

Cheers paul
