If your water is pure and your brush is clean, it must be something on the windows.
I had a job a few weeks ago, went back next day and they looked terrible, someone asked if a road nearby had been resurfaced and funnily enough it had been! A path very near, si maybe something like that. Look for the obvious.
I didn't use Ionics brush when mine messed up, but I do use Ionics most of the time and best in my opinion.
-
yes but why would this happen even on my owne windows there has been no road works round here water pure brush is clean as far as i am aware will clean it later ijust dont know if the outer brushes on the duel trim brush arnt splying enoughth so the inner brush can scrubb propperly

Newbie to WFP, but wonder if theres a film of something on there, grease from an outside kitchen window perhaps? Maybe soak it overnight in vinegar and then rinse thoroughly in RO.

But if you picked the crud up off the kitchen window of another property at the end of last week maybe, dunno, worth giving it a thought.

could have a point there clean brush again see what happens but personally i think the brissels on the out side of the dule trim brush are not allowing the inner brisseles to contact the glass properly thats my opinion thats why i thought i would ask you guys on here to see what you all come up with and try and eliminate the prob you may have a point though good thinking ;)

cleaned the brush just tryed it on a neighbours dirty window still the same its as if the brush is missing some of the muck on the window
-
Just athought but if you think the brush is missing bits try changing the brush if you have one or doing the lower windows with the dodgy brush but hold the brush head in your hand and ensure full contact on the window,
then rinse well and wait till dry

if it is the trim round the brush that is not splaying. can i cut it off so its the same lenth as the inner bristles. will it harm any thing . do i have to cut them at certain angles ???
-
I honestly don't think it can be the outer trim, the Ionics brush sweeps across all the glass as good as if not better than most. Is it verrrry cold where you are at the mo? That might make the brush a bit poor in performance, but shouldn't really.
Give it a good rinse in a bucket of hot water. Boil some pure if you like, really rinse it, let it dry, then try again. Thats if you have another brush to use in the meantime

no m8 quite warm its as if the bristles are missing the muck and just gliding over the muck without removing it.

And your water flow is good?
Sorry no answers here then

MBS- We had a problem like your a few years ago.
Turned out a ladies windows we had cleaned had been having flat roof done.
Could not see anything on the windows so cleaned as normal then found out some windows had picked up a greasy film of some sort.
Apparently something to do with the burning of the tar on the roof.
Had to ditch the brush and got a new one.
Maybe?
Thanks Robbie

thanks all but it seems to have been on quite a few jobs today will clean brush in hot water see how it goes tommorow if not then its a new brush i think see if that cures the probs it baffeled me as well ;)
-
i dont think its your brush mate , ive had the same problems and i tryed 4 diffrent brushes its as if theres some type of grease on the windows . i know this minght sound daft but over the last few weeks ive noticed a lot of low flying planes theres some crap comes out of them and if you are working near a flight path just a thought .
-
If it's a grease then hot water is unlikely to shift it alone from your brush. Your going to need detergent or tfr or a degreaser of some sort to clean the brush. Don't worry about contaminating your brush with any of these because provided you rinse off glass it won't be a problem. Have a close look at the bristles - do they feel greasy at the moment?
-
all these jobs have been on a ring rd so maybe its traffic grease i could of picked up on the brush i did start them last week. and did mine friday after i did them may be this is the cause what do you think will have a look at the brush in 1/2 hour when little one asleep :)

I notice noone has mentioned this possibility, but it's a situation I'm left with after all the storms. In my area, the salted up windows from the rotten weather a couple of weeks ago, have started to bake on. I thought a good bit of rinsing would shift it, but noticed on one of my pubs. Looked like I hadn't touched it, just glad I'm still checking these newbie custies after the bad weather. Fortunately a good scrub shifted the mess, but it took a while. Since then have found a few more, feels like brushing over sandpaper on some, vaseline on others!!
It was always worst where water comes off an overhang nearby, like a low roof or badly fitted guttering.
Did 6 bungalows today, all baked on, dipped my brush in a TFR solution, came straight off and gleamed like new when dry.

I have had same problem today on a church's windows, upvc windows, quite large panes, went inside to do the internal windows, and after hopur or so noticed many of the windows had runs on them. These windows have always had a bit of a problem with this, but today, terrible. I reckon it is the salt they put on the roads when it is frosty.
I did hear that they were going to spray the salt with molases to make it sticky, so that it would stick to the road surface and not just be blown away after a couple of minutes. If that is the case, it could be that it is sticking to the windows more than normal.
I know when I was trad. it could be very difficult shifting the salt, used to hat this time of year for that.
Anybody else heard this ?

Dunno if grease would either affect the TDS, as its not dissolved; or... could grease in the water by coating the probes render them unable to read an electrical current if it coated them, like an insulation really.
Anyway, brush looks fine, that wallpaper is horrendous ;D

what you said pj just needed a good clean in hot water bingo i hope how often do you clean yours ;) thanks for that m8 ;)

Mot much, really only when I've done a few first cleans or something like that. Usually just let it dry out and give it a bashing.
But every now and then treat it to the full warm wash with a bit of soap and thorough rinse. About once a month at most.
