Title: Upstairs flat
Post by: Conflagration2000 on February 08, 2008, 05:57:59 pm
A woman asked me to give her a quote today, she lives in house thats split into two flats, she's on the top. It's a very easy job so I give her the quote and I said I'll do it Monday. I got to thinking, I'm going to get the lower flat's windows wet when I do them, how would I stand if they complained? Any advice gratefully received, :)

i had the same problem 6 months ago,

i cleaned the top flat and wet the bottom flat, i never knew if i had dirtied them, but was more than likely,

i felt so uncomfortable doing it, and only when the bottom flat owners were out (luckily)

i dont do it now, i cant put my name to something that dont feel right .

was going to say that, either that or there windows will get wet, I would give the downstairs a discount.

I'd certainly try and get downstairs onside with a discount offer but if they shoo you away then it may be that you'd have to give their windows a quick once over for nothing.

What you can't do is dirty their windows, shrug your shoulders and walk away.

I have found that on most windows only the bottom few inches of the downstairs glass gets dripped on. I just blade off the bottom 12" of the glass by dragging the squeegie from left to right. Takes seconds.

I do try to get them as a customer first though  :)
