Although I use a fairly new double vacum extraction machine I still have a lot of probs removing traffic lanes. I do prespray with Ashbys prespotter. Any tips to improve performance even a little would be appreciated. ???

There are several issues here..
1 Make sure that you always prevacuum thoroughly..that is North to South / East to West with a good powerful vacuum
2. Spray on your pre-treatment chemical.
3. Agitate to ensure that the remaining soil is released. Agitation may be by power head on the extraction tool, a separate machine ie one with cotra-rotating brushes.
4. Rinse with extraction machine using a low pH rinse agent

Thanks Derek, I'll give them a try.

You could scrub a bit harder on them areas.

On the other hand the carpet may be knackered

nothing wrong with looking back at old posts ;) ;) ;)
Actualy ,i have found that traffic lanes do improve remarkably upon complete drying, they often look far worse whilst still damp , a point I always make clear to customers , like wise the nose of stairs can often look darker when still wet .

whilst i have never used ashbys pre spray,i cant help thinking there are better presprays than theirs
it never gets a mention on this site
try all the usual suspects, multi pro, shockwave, powerburst,
try solu boost in your prespray, plenty of dwell time and scrubbing, slower pass with your wand
hope it helps
