Title: Heavy Duty Soil Lifter
Post by: ian richards on December 02, 2004, 09:27:21 am
I know there are quite a few of you out there that use the chemspec product Heavy Duty Soil Lifter.
I have used it on a few occasions, but it always makes me feel very sick and gives me a headache.
I know it is TOXIC and should'nt be inhaled, but i have a problem with using a product on someone's furnishings that can cause such a problem to the respiratory system.
I have used a mask, but surely that can only cause concern to the client if he/she see's you wearing one!
Not only that, but i can't get on with it anyway, i find that i dont get the same results as other products on the market, perhaps i'm using it wrong!
I have decided not to use it anymore.

I would be grateful for some feedback off you guys, wether it be good or bad!!

Cheers

Ian,

It is a useful product but I would not use it as a fine spray because of the inhalation problem. Your concerns are fully justified.

I use it mainly on carpet either by direct application or occasionally as a course spray. On upholstery, on the rare occasions I use it, it is commonly as an additive to a high-solids shampoo.

Since adopting micro-splitters, it is used far less frequently.

Ian
I use it on upholstery for grease soils diluted 5-1,then followed with MS and hot water rince.Have not had a problem.Have you contacted Chemspec for there advise. One of the benefits is you can reduce the amount of water mixed for water sensitive materials or use as a dry cleaning solution.
Please keep as informed if you have feedback from chemspec.
