Title: hoover for communal area cleaning

i`m taking on new staff, and was wanting to upgrade from a henry. I would like to know your views on a henry xtra, or a powerflite backpack, for cleaning stairs and communal areas.

Gary, stick with the henrys. You could get an air turbo brush, they do a better job, than the normal head that comes as standard.

I was considering a backpack for a while, but thought better of it when i compared prices.

there is not a big difference in price Arthur, thats why I`m undecided.

hi there

ive seen teams going through stairwells with backpacks, and yes they make life a whole lot easier, and faster, therefore there may well be an argument for the backpack, esp in the stairwell

It is worth spending more on a backpack as you will get it back in time saved on the contract. I use the hypercone back pack, very powerful and no bags to buy.

We clean communal area of blocks of flats (small to medium size) so will be watching this post with interest

Like most we use Henrys

Nilfisk do a back pack called BACUUM. It is available in mains and battery versions. I am sure Express Cleaning may be able to help

Nilfisk do make a battery cordless version but run time is only about 30 minutes so not much good, price is also about £800.00. You can pick up a decent backpack for about £200.00. I use mine for all regular commercial accounts. I have tried most makes of backpacks, Nilfisk backuum is extremely powerful and fairly lightweight, my staff like it but is quite pricey. Tennant I sent it back cord was not long enough and not powerful enough for me. Truvox not bad, found it lost power very quickly when bag got dusty and the bags were not easy to use. My favourite is the hypercone, plenty of suction, no bags to use, good price. These are of course only my opinions, you need to check around and find the one that suits your needs best.

I looked at the backpack you are talking about on the web, I pick up a block of six flats with in two weeks and would be very interested how they work.  Also, it did not say on the site what the length of the cord is, any idea?
