Sorry Pete, do you need anything from us now. Been away at Disneyland Paris and my brain is fried.
-
Hi Neil
As long as you got the email from Jason thats all you need for now. Got thye teddy bears picnic at Butlins for 4 days in a couple of weeks and done it twice before so I know the feeling.
Pete
-
Well done Pete and Jason, I know how hard you are working on this project and well done suppliers for attending.
Shaun
-
Prowler demo at 9 o clock, after Sunday night I'll not be able to see the ON switch till well past 11 ;)
I think the Prowler v Scorpion is a bit silly as it isn't really comparing like for like, but if thats what they want.
-
Hi Guys
Well done to Pete and Jason, you have worked really hard and it should be an excellent day.
John, I think the idea of Prowler vs Scorpion is to have a big portable vs a small TM and see how big a gap there is.
It should be fun, although it would also be interesting to include a small Woodbridge and a heated porty , such as the Ninja.
Should the porties be allowed add ons like extra heaters and vacs boxes not included in their 2 leads ?
Cheers
Doug

Re Prowler v Scorpion
Didnt someone have a Scorpion 2" hose and a 4 jet wand - love to see it action
and was it Pete ExLands who was taking his Ninja
-
Thanks for all your kind words ;).
Its taken some organising and still more to go but think we're getting there!
We're still waiting on one or two suppliers.
The porty v t/m competition was something we thought might be a bit of a laugh but we're still undecided on how to do it fairly.
Oh, forgot to mention we have the carpets at the venue to clean after the day as part of the deal :o so might be a better idea to compare a few units and have a go yourself whilst doing the clean. I think theres only about 200 sq. metres in total so shouldnt take long with hopefully 50 professional carpet cleaners in attendance ;D.
P.s. John, dont worry. I couldnt see straight for 2 days after the last ccdo beer up ;D.
All the best,
Jason.
-
I couldn't see straight for two after having had to look at you in the morning J, it still makes me shudder when I look back.
Joe, I'll bring me old ninja in if you want but it will probably look be the same as comparing a dustbuster to a steempro if I were to go up against a scorpian.
-
You'll have people talking with comments like that :o.
I must add it was in the hallway not bedroom ;).
Anyway you staying out after 9 this year? ;D
-

Well thats very honest of you Pete.
Looks like the Scorpio v Prowler then.
I can imagine the "winner" but would like to see what you get for the extra money of the Prowler, plus really like to see this 4 jet wand on the Scorpion.
Thank you and Jason, plus others who may have been working behind the scenes to get this together - much appreciated.
-
Cheers Joe,
We're still trying to work out a format for the clean off. I think to have 2 masked off areas say 12' x 12' and have the vans positioned at same door at the same time. To have say a couple of buckets of water a sinks distance + filling time away for the porty user to have to collect and fill their machine as well.
Theres no point doing it if the test isnt as real as possible.
Any adeas?
-
I stayed up til at least 10.30. My only mistake was caning stellas whilst u were on the r whites
-
Only joking mate ;D
Speak to you tomorrow, now off to bed early start.
Take it easy,
Jas.
-
Perhaps Alltec might want to compete with the Advantage with a Rotavac fitted
its a bit like a ploughing Competion.
Of course if ni Pre Vac is done that should be a disqualification ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
That would be good Ian, would like to see a Rotovac working - maybe have a go.

No, you buy a scorpion without a heater fitted as standard same with vac boxes but its not my call you buy a standard prowler then don't have to start adding extras.
-
I agree....................... out of the box comparisons are what we need ................. Top Gear show us showroom cars, we can all go and add big wheels and nitrous oxide if we wish ;D
-
Re Prowler v Scorpion
I think we all know which is going to outperform the other - the Prowler.
What I would like to compare is the value for money.
(all prices exc VAT)
Prowler cost £5995 but includes 50ft vac and solution hose and a 2" wand. Heater standard.
Scorpion costs £2450 but excludes hoses, and wand - how much for those - say £450 no say £500.
so we now have £2950.
OK lets see how they perform against each other
but the price difference is still £3045
so lets add on a in-line heater £500
and Solutions Mighty One Booster £635 (needed on longer hose lenghts where cant get machine closer??)
Scorpion now costs £4085
So how does £4085 of machinery stand up to £5995 stuff.
Thats what I would like to see
Lets assume the Prowler outperforms still.
But if I was upgrading I want to know what do I get for that extra £1910.
Anything I have missed out of the calculation?
Is there a water tank to buy for the Prowler? If YES - how much? say £92 for 175 litre.
Plus some fitting ito van? You put a figure on it.
So yes, lets pile the "goodies" onto the Scorpion - lets get it to top spec. As I said before I expect the Prowler still to outperform but its value for money (taking into account performance as well) that I would be interested in.
Sounds like we are in for a good day.

No tank to buy its included in the price as for fitting its a case of bolting frame to floor four bolts and prowler fitted.Tank fitting depends on van set up.
-
I think if some body has got the Scorpion on 2 inch pipes all singing and dancing ,will be worth bringing it along to compare with both the standard Scorpion and the Prowler.

My Scorpion against the prowler,no problem. Just taken delivery of a four jet wand on a 1.75 bore, running on 2" hose, awesome airflow to water ratio.
Bring it on, Rob
.................................................................................................................................
Robert made this offer a few days ago.
Hes got a 1.75" 4 jet wand - I have a 1.5" Wonderwand.
If he has'nt got a in-line heater I have and be willing to bring along.
but not got a Mighty One Hybrid Turbo (for longer hoses)
My machine is now on 2" so no standard machine available????
-
Hi everyone,
I know the Prowler will out perform the Scorpion so there's no point in the competition but I will bring the Scorpion along to draw comparables.
The Scorpion I own is triple vac 300 psi machine on 2" hose with 1.75" four jet wand, attached to this is a Hybrid Greenglide.
The machine is used on the van most of the time and the solution feed has external hoses so these are dropped into a 20 litre container of Microsplitters for prespraying. On the rare occasions that I do need very hot water I carry an Alltec Aqua 40 as a back-up machine with a 3 kw internal heater, so I heat the water up in this machine and drop the external solution pipes from the Scorpion into the Aqua 40 tank.
Regards Rob

Guys & Girls
When sending cheques to Jason can you make it clear who you are (and signing would help too-not mentioning names)
Pete
-
Can you also please check your spam box as had lots of people saying email has gone into theirs. Think it must be emails from AOL.
Cheers,
Jason.
-
Just thougt you'd all like to know that Brendan Coyne of Cleaning Matters Magazine will be attending and reporting on this event.
-
I believe Alltec will no longer be there.
Dave.
-
i have an original rotovac which i will bring with me
Dave Lee And Shaun Ashmore might reconise it! ;D ;D ;D
-
Unfortunate that Alltec have decided to pull out as for a corporate event the price is for nothing especially with all of the carpet cleaners potential buyers.
Shaun
-
Shaun,
You will have to look elsewhere for your new machine now. ;D
Paul
-
Alltec wont be there but Dave Lee is bringing his new alltec machine with 2.5" hose rig along with his glided rx20. We'll be able to see it in action (and hopefully have a go with) one of the best t/m setups out there.
Also Colin Bright's coming with his similar (if not the same) setup.
These vans are something else ;)
-
Will there be a carpet cleaners clear out sale on the day?
-
Yep, first up will be Jasons collection of Mr Men books.
-
And then his crap TM what ever made him buy an orange ;D
Shaun
-
oi shaun my cars orange, leave it you puff ;)
-
How did the run go Billy? How much did you raise?
-
sound pete, so far about £1100, still waiting on a few cheques, so hopefully over 1500 would be sound, most of that was throw the auction run on truckmounters, so thanks for your cheque, you were the only one off this forum, other than a few with truckmounts, to make an effort, so thanks pete, i'll buy you a shandy when i see yer
-
oi shaun my cars orange, leave it you puff ;)
Bill did you know Shaun wears pink Jarmies to go to bed in. He will deny this of course though. ;D
-
And then his crap TM what ever made him buy an orange ;D
Shaun
Shaun jelousy will get you no-where. I remember you saying you were interested in it ;D
-
I'm always interested until they talk money and then I'm not, there's nothing in life for free these days :'(.
Shaun
PS Mossy you are only jealous because Lorraine makes you wear a G string to bed when it's cold.
-
From the information provided above, I presume that the Prowler will be the original red (13hp?) model.
I seem to remember someone posting about a newer yellow more powerful model. Will one of these be present? I'd like to see them both and witness the difference between the two.
Safe and happy cleaning :)
Ken
-
Hi Ken
John is hoping to be getting delivery of the new 15hp prowler prior to the event
Pete
-
Thanks Pete
Safe and happy cleaning :)
Ken
-
New Prowler being shipped Tuesday. Also 6hp "baby" nearly ready.
-
John what is the spec on the 6 hp?
-
Not fully sure yet Paul, waiting on photos. Do know it will have a Hypro 6hp engine, 24 blower and I think 400 psi pump. Designed for the US hire market but I'm sure it will be a match for any porty if the price is right.
-
That will prob be a better machine to test against the Scorpion on the day.
-
So its not top secret anymore ??? ???
-
No Ian, he's eventually made it and I'll have a photo soon, Being painted as we speak. Paul I won't have one its just been built and needs some rigorous testing before I'll even decide whether its worth the cost of bringing over. There's also a 320 gallons per minute flood pumper. This has a Hypro transfer pump for de-flooding and also a 33 blower for extracting the remnants. http://www.amtexequipment.com/index-4.html

Has any one got a Rotovac 360 that could be at CCDO ??
