Title: ** AGITATION METHOD ?**
Post by: EasycleanWindows on February 03, 2008, 07:52:11 pm
Hi there people

Ive been cleaning carpets now for about 5 months  and as i only have 3/4 of one lung working i would like to ask you all what agitation method you would advise for residential properties only ?

Ive been using the pile brush but find this really strenuous so would like to know which mechanical agitation would be best

Theres obviously other ways which i would have missed but please could you add any ive missed

Regards

Steve

Just been given a Sebo duo and for lightly soiled domestics it is excellent, much easier than using the pile brush.  Also it takes up very little space in the van.

Steve

Have you considered dwell time very effective I believe, whilst setting up?

There are a few machines on the market contra-rotating some are heavy so I would look at the sebo in your condition.

As Len says, allow the advised dwell time  and you won't need much aggitation, except on heavily soiled areas. For occasional aggitation, use a 12 " nylon bristle brush, with long and not tostiff bristles , cost about £3, very low maintenance, extremely light, almost no storage space necessary.

The force required would be about one fifth of using a pile brush.
