-
VW T4
it'll be a fairly old van, BUT when its time to sell that van it'll still be worth the same , you can pick them up for 1 K ( ish ) then spend a few hundred to get it looking nice
-
i dont suppose you have any pictures of this do you as i think this might be the way im going
thanks
-
I am thinking of a Mercedes Vito, like this one for £1500.......

Mark
good call
as i said VW T4
or
as mark has said, the VITO
both same sized vans, both last and both at that price range will be worth the same in a few years
-

just go on ebay and search for T4, loads will come up, i kept my eye on ebay and watched the prices, they go for around 1 K, you will get a slightly newer vito for the same money, but the t4 does last

more expensive on parts though and most will agree, dont last aswell
vito's allways go on the bottom of the doors really quick
though saying that, T4's tend to go on the wheel arches if not looked after

I know they look worse that what the dog leaves on the lawn, but if you went for an LDV you'd get newer and lower mileage for the same price. I think the payload is a bit higher too.
-
this could be ok for the money just needs a lick of paint !

are you mad, would not be seen dead using one of them ugly is not the right word but i will keep it cival ............you nearly made me spill my pint then >:( lol

merc vito on ebay...............0ver 200,000 miles around the clock TWICE
-
Vito's tend to rust alot. T4's imo would be a better option.
(Well I do have one)
-
I'd use the 1500 as a deposit and either lease or buy, but at that price all you'll get is high mileage and trouble.

Not entirely true i have a high mileage Scudo and have had it a Year trouble free not the best van but it was only ever supposed to be a short term thing it only cost me £1750 and should get most of that back when i sell in the summer
Having said that you can get some right sheds for that type of money you pay yer money and take yer chances

-
thanks i dont suppose you have any pictures do you as i know where a decent lwb is but i dont know if i like the look of the extra little bit
-
you will struggle to find a lwb transporter when i was looking 8mths ago there were a lot of abused vans around i came across this one by accident was listed in paper as a transporter no indication what engine it was apparently the 2.5 tdis are hard to find ! if you are on a low budget you best stick to looking for 1.9 tds will post a photo
-
here is a photo
-
there is one on autotrader at the moment

does not tell what engine it has the early 1.9s are non turbo very slow not bad mileage though
-
one for £2000 on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Transporter-1-9TD-T4-Van_W0QQitemZ120218108741QQihZ002QQcategoryZ108851QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

if you dont mind me asking what length is the load area?
thanks
-
just under 3 meters or 282 centimeters to be exact. i think thats about 8ft ish not managed to fill it yet!
-
to be honest, the LWB is only 400 mm longer than the SWB, which to be honest with the premium you pay for a LWB ( they hardly ever come up for sale and when they do they fetch a fair bit more, all for 400 mm
