Title: yougurt
Post by: DREAM CLEAN on January 31, 2008, 07:44:16 pm
Hi Carpet cleaning people

Can you help please?

My customer has blue square carpet tiles in their office and one of the staff have dropped a full pot of yougurt and have asked if I can get rid of it before it smells.
Any idea how to get shot of it please?

Nick

Hi Nick

I would look through to see if you have any clensan. It's a bacteriacide that doubles up as a very good odour neutraliser. Dilute the clensan at about 10-1 (use hot water) and spray onto liberally onto area. Leave to dwell for about 10 mins then rinse out with some fibre & fabric rinse with your machine (use the hand tool). Its possible you might need to repeat process.

It does say on bottle not to use as direct applicastion but its fine.

I would treat yoghurt as milk and use Stain Pro the extract with Fibre & Fabric Rinse

 Nick

Look for anything that acts as a bacteriacide and come back to me.

Pete (call me if you need, am happy to help)

Most household hard surface bacterial cleaners, eg Dettox, are similar to many of the deodourisers we use in our industry. So, rinse, spot/stain clean, rinse then rinse again with just tap water so there are no residues. Then treat with Dettox (after thorough testing) dwell, rinse then lightly treat again and leave with a weighted poultice.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

I would take up the carpet tile and either change it or stick it in the sink and wash it.
