What is the best way to avoid a wet leg using trad ? After a hard days work my left leg is soaking ! Have tried using a scrim pocket cut in two but , maybe the holster neads a re design .
-
are you talking about a bucket on a belt? if so i think it needs a re-design i could never get on with mine when i was trad it now sits in the shed redundant, you dont want to have a wet leg looks like you might have had an accident ;D

If your using a BOAB then your overfilling the bucket, don't even put any water in it, there is plenty of water on your applicator and empty it regularly.
-
ski trousers ;D
-
yeah but "BUCKET ON A BELT " sounds so good .....promises so much ! all im left with is a wet leg and a wet seat in my car !
-
i always had this when trad it varied from damp to soaking and i never put water in the holster and emptied it regular.....the ski trouser thing was not a joke look for some waterproof breatheable trousers its easiest solution probly
-
never had this prob when trad just used it for holding my tools just dip aplicator in water aplicator holds enought water for a few windows
-
Thanks mr thorpe as you know when you have been cleaning all day it gets on ya nerves , but it wont kill me lol .
-
soon be spring will dry out between jobs ....well nearly ;D ;D if you go wfp its your feet that seem to get it
-
Lol, bucket on a belt isn't used as a bucket, don't fill it! Instead use the real bucket and rinse the applicator now and then between your hands. No wet leg. :)
-
Hi,
AS posts before, you only put your applicator & squeegee in a bucket on a belt. Had mine for 5 years never had a wet leg. why would someone put water in it?

I am with windolene, don't use it as a carrier for water just use it as a holster and get a good applicator sleeve such as a monsoon. Every now and then empty the water from the BOB and away you go.
Been doin this for years and never a wet leg. ;) ;)

Jonah, do you have a detachable bucket? If you keep bucket on while travelling, you are going to get wet!

No dont fill the bucket on a belt , just find it wets my leg anyway !
-
I wouldn`t keep a squeegee in one as it scars the rubber and don`t like those rubber inserts to protect it.
I find the Unger classic moves less than the others and this helps avoiding a wet leg.
Also don`t overload your applicator with water. I rarely dip mine in the bucket and use a bottle of water to keep the applicator wet enough.

im the same mate, wet leg. i just got used to it,
i found the bigger the applcator the wetter the legg ;D
i knw that you can get a strap for the bottom of the bucket that holds it just above the knee that helps
-
I think the best design would be to have a 3 inch spacer at the top where it fixxes onto the belt .
-
Unger is rubbish I find the ettore sidekick it the dogs, and what's the point of a BOB if you don't put your squeegee in it. IMO

Your applicator must be mingin' if you hardly ever put it in a bucket, either that or the windows you clean are poo free. LOL

I am with steve,
you have got to wash your applicator out regularly or you are just pushing dirt round the glass.
As for scaring the rubber, I have never had a problem with that and been using the sidekick for years maybe it's a problem with unger BOB.

Unger one soaks ya leg, if only they designed a plactic shield, other thing to do this time of year is wear water proofs, dont recommend that in the summer though

Brilliant. Wash em on rince and spin, no detergent or wash powder (Tracy's advice ;D)

I wash my applicator regularly. I don`t dip it in the bucket to wet it though. I have a bottle/bottles of water which I run down the applicator to keep it wet.Using clean water every time I do this, just not water of a bucket that soon gets dirty as you dunk a minging applicator in it.
I clean my applicator, quite often, in a bucket of water which I change continously as this is all its used for.
Outside taps are also useful to clean a minging sleeve.
I only use the BoB to carry the applicator and not a squeegee, I prefer a holster for this. It could just be the type I`ve used but I don`t like rubber catching against the plastic on the squeegee section. I change the rubber every couple of days and don`t want to change it more often than I need to.

my boab is of poor design and always hits my legs when walkin and the applicator makes my trousers wet
-
put rubber bands on your applicator so it stop it moving all way across BOB this stops applicator dripping down leg water goes back in BOB .
-
Just don`t have your applicator so wet all the time.
I carry a bottle of water/solution and wet the sleeve how and when I need it.
A bottle of water will not run down your leg. A soaked applicator will.
This doesn`t eliminate wet leg completely but you will be a lot drier.
