Does anyone know how long it takes for a payment to be debited from your account?

Made an improtant online payment using a visa card last night, but no sign of a debit in the account today. Does that mean it hasn't gone throught?

depending on the bank, normally two days

it can be 4 days before it showsout of your account

they should tell you as you make the payment, while on the phone. if you are talking about the tax office it can take upto a week to come out of your account (dont ask why, same happened to me a couple of years back)

little note to anyone reading this, if you are paying you tax by card, they dont accept credit cards, leant that aswell  :-[
