I am absolutely amazed that my 2 yr old toddler found a biro and then scribbled on a large area of my brand new cream leather suite today!!!! After crying I surfed this site and somewhere read an article by a mum whose child did the same and she suggested hairspray.
Well folks after ordering a biro remover over the internet I tried hairspray followed by leather cleaner and conditioner and it is now as good as new!!!!! Definately worth remembering.

This is an old remedy for removing ink and has on occassions had some very good results. You were lucky that it worked so well.
We would not recommend it as a general rule as the solvents in the spray can also remove finish from the leather. If finish has been removed it leaves the leather open so that dirt and oils can penetrate and do long term damage.
There are very good products on the market for the removal of ink which have been specifically tested on leather and as a rule these should be used in preference to other products.
