Title: Need a pump.
Post by: TVCS on January 26, 2008, 11:49:24 am
Hi everyone.

In desperate need of a new pump, shurflo or flojet, not too bothered really.  Anyone recommend a good supplier.   Anyone use a shurflo 150psi?

window cleaning warehouse is as good as anywhere . they have flojet and shurflo pumps but not 150psi . flojet 95 psi shurflo 100 psi both are good pumps .shurflo being the cheapest of the 2 .

I bought in error a 30 psi pump.  tried it just out of curiosity and obviously the pressure was really poor.  Saw a 150 psi on the internet and wondered if anyone uses them for the high reach work.  I run 2 hoses from the 1 pump so it might be worth a try.

both the flojet and shurflo pumps are able to run to poles . the 150 psi pump how many ltrs per minute was this . 30 psi pumps are ok for trolleys with only a short lenght of hose around 8 mtrs any more than that the pump dont want to play .

you only need arond 1.5 ltrs per min . you probally wont find a pump this low shurflo is around 5.4 per min . but varistream helps with flow .

Folks seem to get confused over psi and ltr/per min.
Psi is the pressure the pressure switch cuts out at.
Ltr/per min is the amount of water outputted.

Example... a 150psi  wont output any more water than a 60psi, it's the ltr/ per min that gives the oomph.
I stand to be corrected ;)

I had a flojet 100psi with 6 lpm.  I tried the 30psi shurflo with a slightly higher lpm and the flow was very poor indeed.   ???

when using the 30 psi pump how much hose were you using ? ive got a 30 psi pump and too much hose is a none starter you can only use around 8 mtrs of hose with these . shurflo 100 psi with varistream reduce flow down to around 1.5 ltrs per minute and you will be fine . same with flojet .
