Will always carry ladders for various reasons, don't buy into this 'No ladders at all' business.
-

Your targeting the wrong type of houses mate!!! ::)
-
not really, two stories seven windows, two doors and a patio door for twenty five pounds a house. Fourteen a day, you do the maths

Am I supposed to be impressed? ::)

Have ladders on van and car, needed for access for about 5% of the work, also clean and fix gutters with them.
see we have another jdemarco in the house, £25 a house nice for minimal work fair play to you ;) if you have this day in day what is you vat number ?
-
I only keep a set of steps for the occasional back gate. I haven't climbed a ladder in over 2 years and don't plan to again.....I heard last week of a local window cleaner being unable to do his work due to a ladder fall, this is someone who has been window-cleaning for at least 10 years, ie with 10 years or more experience of ladder work...a dirty piece of glass is simply not worth the risk, in my humble opinion.

Just bought a pair of aluminium step ladders from a custy for a fiver. Seperated the ladders and cut them to fit inside my van for getting over the odd gate.

I go five miles down the road for that. All the houses are on a private estate, and the last window cleaner charged the same, but couldnt put up with the up and down all the time. If I do the houses round me its seven pound a house. I do them every eight weeks, with builders cleans in between
-
Yep, 3 sets.

I'm all wfp but had to take the ladders of the Van this week as I had some problem windows.
I think there will always be the need to carry ladders, I hated getting them of the van but needed to work out what the problem was,
Hi Mo your local to me.
-
not all the general public are aware what wfp is by leaving your ladders on your vehicle it gives them some kind of a clue as to what you are as they are used to seeing a ladder, bucket and squeegy not a big pole with a brush on the end.

Quotes from Steve M
"99% of my round have no access to the backs, so its over the garage"
"not really, two stories seven windows, two doors and a patio door for twenty five pounds a house. Fourteen a day, you do the maths" I make that £350/day or £1750/week or around £84K/year! That's of course less the 1% that aren't like this!
"I go five miles down the road for that. All the houses are on a private estate, and the last window cleaner charged the same, but couldnt put up with the up and down all the time. If I do the houses round me its seven pound a house. I do them every eight weeks, with builders cleans in between"
Your last post sort of contradicts your second post, it sound like what you're really saying is you have 14 or so houses that you charge £25 a time for and all the others are £7. ???
Most of us on here would be charging anything from £3 - £10 for these types of houses.
Oh and so that I don't get classed as hijacking the thread, all of our vans (4) are multi purpose and have ladders and pointers on them at all times.
Two have water tanks in them, one has a backpack with 200 ltrs and the last only has trad gear.
