If you have the space in your vehicle then I would recommend 2x 8 litre DI vessels. In the long run 2 large vessels will save time and a lot of money.

If you need any help setting them up just email me.

this is what i sent

is 2 x 8 litres gonna be ok matey?

might use tap water sometimes if ever im stuck as i live like 20 miles away from my work. but planning to use rainwater most of the time.

gonna be filling with pure into my tank to, that wont make a difference will it?

so how would i set them up? i have 2 hose reels each run from seperate pumps and varistreams

would i go tank, DI's, splitter to each pump?

would it feed through them? ive got a 400 litre tank in the back

I would go di tank then to pump, that way you know whats in the tank is 000 (as long as you change resin from time to time, twin resin vessals in tandem cuts costs

I have 2 myself now as was chucking 001 resin in the skip and was a waste

Sounds like you have it all worked out.

would i go tank, DI's, splitter to each pump? Yes that sounds a good set-up for twin pumps.

There should be no problem with twin pumps pulling through them, might have to turn the varistreams up a notch.

Personally I would go for pure water in tank and 2 individual pump/varistream setups.
The main reason is simplicity in the long run.  If you have a particular problem with say the pump you have another pump available to problem solve with.
Also if 1 system beaks down, at least you have one remaining system to see you through the day.

Alex why would you put di's after the tank ?

It would allow for quicker filling of the tank at the start of each day. If you passed water through the DI too quickly it would tend to result in greater 'channeling' of the resin and would reduce the efficacy of the DI process.

If speed was not an issue there is nothing stopping you putting them on the inlet side of the tank and allowing 1/2 hour or so to fill.

so, 2 x 8's gonna be ok?

as i say, if i run out, tap water would be an emeregency option

It will be overkill for rainwater, but perfect for tap water.

Increases resin life enormously.  When water reading goes up to 001, take second canister, refill with new, carrying on using.  Second canister is now processing water that is coming out of the first canister at 001.  When water is coming out of the second canister at 001 again, take the first canister, refill with new and put in place of the second canister.  Put the second canister in the place of the first canister.  Repeat this last stage every time your output rises to 001.

I use two vessals aswell now  ;) saves alot of messing about and resin saving is a bonus aswell  ;)
