Here's an idea. In January don't bother.
or does that sound a bit defeatist? :-\
-
Very defeatist - February was my best month last year, probably because January was so quiet I spent most days leafletting!

Mike don't get so down about it, they say if you do nothing expect nothing.
You've got a computer get some letters printed out and send them to old customers, then send some to pubs and nursing homes and childrens plays centres and nurseries. Get leafleting if you do all of this the phone will ring and you will feel better and the phone will then ring some more and recommendations will come in. Consistancy is the only way you'll get work and keep work coming in.

The post was slightly tongue in cheek :P
Having said that have had only 2 calls from 2500 over the last 10 days.
Luckily I've been here before and know it evens out and I'm taking your advice and being consistent with 3hrs on the average leafleting/day.
Not done too many letters I will admit, especially to businesses so will do more of that.

Dont forget although Jan might not be good when you deliver next one thats another step close to them giving you a call.
When I was knocking on doors or even making sales presentations I was told No is one step closer to Yes

What you were told is a good mental strategy. It's a reframe from focussing on the Nos as negative to being a positive step toward a sale.
That's partly why knowing your ratios is important because you have certainty that with the law of averages you will make a sale every x number of Nos.
