Title: Pakora / Chilli Sauce Stain
Post by: John_McGavin on November 29, 2004, 09:04:23 am
Been called out to try & remove a stain tonight.

Pakora sauce spilt on an Ivory 100% wool carpet. Customer has attempted to remove with a stain devil but no joy.

Ive explained that this would be very difficult to remove and the fact they have attempted to remove it themselves may have actually set the stain. They have asked me to go out and try anyway.

So, whats the best way to attempt this? My plan was to first try an acidic rinse, followed by stain pro then red rx. Im not very confident about getting it out, however if I do there could be some more work for me .... very nice house & area  : ;)

Any suggestions welcome

John

John,

Your approach sounds OK, except that I feel that a plain water rinse is better as the first treatment.

The RedRX has a habit of lightening ivory carpet, creating a halo effect, so apply to the dry stained area carefully, after wetting the periphery to discourage out-wicking of the treatment.
