Title: changing over to kerosene in t/m

Can any one give me any advice if i change over to kerosene from diesel (not red diesel) do i need new jets  and after blocking off old feed pipes could i use the same way to feed the kerosene to the boiler as this is a flow and return system to keep the cost of running the t/m down any advice please des

If you can get hold of Dave Ingram he will advise you better as he has built both types of TMs.

kerosene burns cleaner and is more effecient than diesel.......If you can get it and its difficult to get, jet fuel is better again and less than half the price....... A small airport may be able to sell you some. Best, Dave.

www.bioking.co.uk why not make your own, We are just starting to do this, fill in a return ,pay 27pence a litre to the revenue and there you go , green diesel at half price, the oil to make it comes free from local chip shops, we are used to mixing chemicals, as carpet cleaners, making biodiesel is no more difficult than what we already do.

You might find you have to change your fuel pump if you do this

Diesel/Gas oil is by nature an oily/greasy substance and lubricates the pump where as kerosene does not therefore reducing the pump life

This is a very simple formula just mix the listed ingredients at the ratio shown.

25 litre of Heating Oil (Kerosene) current price approx 31p per litre

1 litre of Duckhams Hyper grade (Diesel Oil Engine)               
                        

Heating Oil Burns at 29 seconds
Diesel         Burns at 33 seconds

To slow the burning down, diesel engine oil is required, in the ratio listed above
Duckhams hyper grade diesel oil also has the green dye, which colours the kerosene, the same as the fuel from the pumps.
This does work very well, do not use in a road vehicle, if you get caught they will tke your vehicle away, I know this to be true. Will be fine in a TM.

For road vehicles, the biodiesel is best, if you declare and pay the duty, we are looking at 15k a year in savings.
