I went to clean a leather suite the other day it was cream with a gold effect finish.Tested siute and the gold started to come off which I knew it would but my question is what could you charge to clean and refinish with gold effect are there any leather restoration chaps who could answer this for me???

Hi Steve

Were you the one we spoke to on Friday and gave names to for leather restoration technicians in the North East?

Cleaning this type of leather would be a standard proceedure but as you say the gold finish effect will be removed in certain areas.  Whether it can then be restored will depend on whether you can find a suitable finish with the gold effect in it.  There are certain products that may work but we would require a sample of the leather to check the colour match.

Cost would be determined by the products and the time taken.

Hope this helps
