Been on a downer this week what with the weather and being short of work. I reckon i've only worked twenty hours in total. Wife comes home from Tesco (part time) and casually mentioned that the full time guy in her office earns £231 a week.............before tax!
Maybe things arn't so bad after all. :)

A good reality check
all is not so bad after all

And you get to make all the decisions mate- stick with it.
Ive found with the weather as it is, the last 2 years I have been leaving all my gutter work still dec/jan.(unless client desperate.)
So this winter has kept me busier.
Not great working in the rain but at least you are earning money.
Does not help having 9 pages of outstanding work though
Thanks Robbie-Clearshine Ltd

It does make you wonder how they survive

i just cant see how they live on that sort of money (no disrespect to them though ) i would do anything if it meant food on the table for the wife and kids, but our trade is a very good payer and the less we talk about it the better in my opinion, more and more non members are coming on here hearing us and before you know it floodgates will open mark my words

Sometimes when im abit down and i think of quitting i look at the job ads in the paper when i see the wages that are on offer i quickly come back to reality and realise that this job is not so bad after all and well paid

what is the minimum wage ??? that bloke gets 5.77 an hour if on 40 hr week
-
38 hour week £6.09 an hour. This is the going rate for many shop workers and a lot more out there which is one good reason not to keep bragging and inflating your earnings on here. If you earn a good wage then fine but please keep it to yourself. ;)

The thing is they advertise jobs on those wages and people are falling over each other to apply for them.
That tells you something about the state of the jobs market these days.
