ive just started employing. and with all this weather my guy aint earned that much
i have entered the 2 weeks details and it says he's due a refund. not alot. i rang tax office and they said i pay him the refund, then i claim it back
have any of you done this?
-
Yes i have done this before. When you do your 3 monthly returns for tax and N.I (the next return due 19th Jan) it all balances out. If it is a large amount to be refunded you can apply to the tax office it does take 3-4 weeks for them to get there act together. More paper work for us unpaid tax collecters!!

so is that all you do, just ring them and say you owe me £X amount?
-
If only it was that simple. You of course have forms to fill out etc, but by the time your 3 month return is due you will have stopped Tax and NI from them and of course your NI contribution so you take what the tax man owes you from the money you owe him and write a cheque. If it is a large refund like i said you can apply and they will pay it straight into your bank account, but you ned the right forms!! It is a pain in the backside to start of but the best investment i made was payroll manager. about £30 for the year and it does it all for you saves a load of time. Not at the right computer to give you the link when i am i will send it to you.
