At last ive finally taken the plunge and moving towards my customers paying me by standing order. Here is a typical day.
2 men do approx 65 houses in a day
1 man 2hours to collect these houses at night
only managing to collect approx 70% - 80%
Im fed up going back out at night and will be stopping come 1st March.
My plan to start customers paying monthly for their windows by standing order although most of them get cleaned fortnightly.
Does anyone have any advice about this it would be appreciated.
Thanks Danny

Seriously 65 houses in a day!!!
That means if they are working 10 hours a day they're doing a house every 9.23 minutes!! including moving between houses. WOW!!

these houses are all on the 1 estate. Done trad,
mostly 3 bedroom. 2 windows upstairs 2 windows downstairs front and back plus 1 at side. 1 man on front 1 man on back

Theres not 10 hours of daylight this time of year within in reasonable time restraints, i.e. it might be light before 8am but you wont be cleaning residential before that. Too dark after 4.30 at the very latest. Half an hour off for lunch, fAg, poo, pi$$, changing any blades that need changing, talking to custys when they pay, crossing the road, bla bla, that works out at a house every 7mins and 51 secs by my reckoning, a window every 53 seconds non-stop, every minute your working.

stop collection, I did this many moons ago, fed up with going out coming back with little, cost me petrol and my time which I was not getting paid for.
if they do not send payment or if they forget they get charged a late payment fee.
I am going to switch to online payments but how to do this without a major headache I dont know, I quite a few pay online but will roll this out just got to work out the best way to do it.
Fed up of the silly bank chanrge bill each month from the amount of cheques paid in.

25 years , i guess you wouldnt stop cant teach an old dog and all that.
website and payments online will give you a well deserved break from collecting

I don't do collecting other than when I have just done the job and knock on the door.
-
only collect if they are in otherwise its an envelope with my address no stamp lol ,via online or under a plant pot
-
I don't do plant pots.
S/o's - fine, and I SAE them otherwise.

You should learn to enjoy your collecting, it gets you and your customers to no each other. I always have the crack with them when i,m collecting and no them all by their name i also think alot of them want to see who is around their property when they are at work after all people have alot of trust in their window cleaner. I used to hate it but now after 10 years of doing it i have just chilled out.
