Just been talking to a mate of mine and he has a lock up shop with just one main window (size approx 14ft x 8ft) and one with single glass pane, any ideas what price I should charge.
By the way, it might be my first ever customer :D but there are other shops in the same complex that need me!
Wish me luck, hoping to start up very soon and thanks again to daveshaw for his help.
Chris.

Within reason the window size shouldn`t make that much difference, don`t forget you`ve got to get there do the job back in the van and drive to the next job.How close by is your next job ie travel time.

no job is ever worth stopping to do for less than £5, a 14ft (wide) by 8ft(high) window and door I'd be looking about £8 on a weekly.

Thanks for that.
Is weekly the norm for shops and businesses?

Some WC`s on here will clean the same shop say 3x a week and in some cases every week day,i do my shops every monday morning early.
-
yeah good point - you need to establish how often you are to do it, another thing to do is (as he's a mate) give him an incentive to get you more work in exchange for a free clean or two.
-
i get 2.00 for a shop like that
-
I think you should be looking at £8 myself

two pound :o OMG
-
No shopkeepers where i am would expect to pay as little as £2.00,i think the minimum you should charge no matter how little it is should be a £5.00.
-
For one pane of glass you wouldn't get more than £3.
That's still a lot for a 2 or 3 minute job.
Not around here you wouldn't anyway, someone else would give a cheaper quote.
-
That`s why some WC`s don`t bother with small shops,it gets to petty.I don`t know why they erm and arrr over a couple of quid they can claim it back against tax anyway.

Have a personal rule shop fronts are no less then a fiver some thing like that would be a fiver allday would take me 2/3 mins max

If he is a mate and you charge £8.00 for 2-3 minutes work then he will think you are ripping him off and not be a mate anymore !!.
£3-£4.00 is more realistic and you will probably pick up other shops in the area thus making it a more profitable clean.
Sometime the prices people on here quote make me laugh. :o :o

Too right, it's a joke sometimes on here.
I've got 7 shops at £2 or £3 and a couple of bigger ones at £5 or 6.
Altogether they take me 35-40 minutes, and it's about £30.
Hardly a poor wage... ::)
