I only used them twice last year with a operator. Now my insurance is due for renewal and its expensive as i need cover to use them. Now im thinking of knocking the cherry picker work on the head if it comes along as my insurance is £600 cheaper without it. Now the question to you guys at what % would you add to your day rate if you had to use a cherry picker which was paid for by the contractor and not by yourselves?

my sole trader P/L insurance is about £100 for 1,000,000 with the use of cherry pickers!
And thats for window cleaning, gutter cleaning and jet washing!

If you use is so limited why not look at insuring just for the occasions you need them. not the cheapest option but cheaper than £600
I insure through the federation of window cleaners with allied insurance. The insurance is specifically for cherry pickers and costs £225 for the whole year and covers the mewp up to £40,000 incase of theft.
