I run George on a Vista x86 system and it works flawlessly.
When I try to use it via my x64 Vista system, it wont run properly.
Anyone have any ideas?
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post :/

I haven't used it on Vista X64 yet, because there aren't any 64bit Palm Hotsync drivers. Shame, cuz vista 64 runs very well for me.
Why exactly does it not run properly? Do you get an error?
Try right clicking the exe, and running it in Xp compatibility mode. Apart from that I can't suggest much, if it really has trouble, then George systems has to solve this ASAP!

Done all the compatability stuff, done all the security issues stuff. still no joy. error something to do with an .ini file...
Anyhow, ill do a reinstall and see if that fixes it...

Vista isn't a resource hog, yes you do need 1Gb atleast to run it properly, but c'mon, that's tech evolution, otherwise we'd still be with crappy Win95. As for Vista using all your memory, that's Superfetch doing it's job.
Vista doesn't have any problems, and runs fine. It's doing actually much much better then XP did in the first couple of years. Security wise and performance wise. Just because you need a faster PC doesn't mean that Vista sucks. That's just the way it goes, and I'm happy otherwise we'd still be in OS/2 lol.
But I understand where you are coming from, my fathers company is switching to Vista next month, one of the biggest chemical companies in the world. I have no idea why, because they all need new laptops, and Vista doesn't give much over XP let's face it. But it runs fine providing you have the hardware.
3rd parties not having proper 64bit drivers is a different story, and that's entirely not Vista's fault.
Vista ran great on my X2 3800+, with 2Gb of Ram, even with 1Gb Ram, and now on my Quad Core 3.6Ghz and 4Gb Ram it runs great too.
Why not turn Aero off, and a couple of other bells and whistles, and it's more responsive then XP. I have no problem with anything, and I'm a power user, and consider myself a gamer with the very latest hardware. But it runs fine on older hardware aswell.

I have just built a new computer Quad Core 3.6Ghz and 4Gb Ram with new intel motherboard on saturday. I put 512meg pci express card in it and installed Vista ulitmate.
Must say first impression is, i'm very impressed, I was copying a 15gig file downloading updates and installing microsoft office all at the same time. And you could still open windows in a blink.
But time will tell.

Hi Ian it cost about £500, but I re used case harddrives etc. So new motherboard cpu and heatsink & fan, 512 pci express card and 4 gig of ram in two strips.

4gig of PC800 DDR2 ram cost me about 50 quid from Ebay...
