Title: New wand from greenie
Post by: stevegunn on January 12, 2008, 08:36:58 am
These pics show the "attic" space at the top of the wand head, this gives excellent airflow all the way across the head, if you look close you will see the 2" tube actually feeds UP into the attic space and then out to the wand slot.

The jets are only 1" off of the carpet for maximum heat retention, and minimal humidity in the room, important at 240ºf.

Looks like one of the wands Solutions were selling a year or so ago, if so, they are extremely light, which is good, but the one I got refused to shut off when releasing the trigger.

They were selling at around £95  £150, but it may be an entirely different beast !

no one is going to order something that they don't know the price of,  how about a ballpark figure say between £300 & £450

I want to order one but I want an idea how much it will cost, I can't believe of all the post about this here & on Truckmounter that no one knows how much it is

Hi Carpet Guy - might the name be Dura-Kleen?

I bought Spencer Davies's Scorpion and a 2 jet wand came with which looks like what Ste Gunn has photoed except "his" has 3 jets and extension pieces to take them nearer the carpet plus the glide.

Just found one with SIX jets $339 postage not quoted for UK, but can't imagine anyone would want six jets.

its a cmp wand thats the company who make them, greenie strips it down, puts his own stuff on it and calls it a greenhorn,

instead of everyone bein a prat and going on about how much they are, phone hydramaster up and ask them, they need to know who interested, once they have numbers, and they working the shipping cost out then am sure they'll give you a price,

Post by: Mike Halliday on January 12, 2008, 04:54:24 pm
so why didn't someone say that in the first place, but I would believe some one has already called hydramaster and put in an order, are they sworn to secrecy about how much it is ::)

because of all the interest shown surely someone knows how much they are, unless some are paying less than others :o :o

I'll call and order one on Monday ( as long as its not silly money)

Mike

Im not paying £500. it might be a good wand but I don't think itsworth spending that amount on a wand when I've got 5 already

I've seen the design I have a 12inch & 14 westpak wand,I might have a go at realigning the jets myself.

Mike I hear the other channel is getting arsy  ::) and that they are blocking people trying to defend you, sounds like the usual stuff and nothing changes with them boys  :(

I dont think Mike needs anyone to act as his defence, sure he can do that himself.
However, Shaun had an input, and indeed others have had a say on the subject as well.
Mountain out of a molehill comes to my mind.

Mike is one of the last people on God's earth to need someone to stand up for him but sometimes a friendly face can help calm the waters.

The Prochem Titanium has 6 jets but if Greenies wands work anywhere near as well as the Titanium, they  definatly would be worth the money, and the glide is a must.

I reckon the greenhorn is bloody good value, but I use the titanium, I obviously paid twice as much for the snob value, good job I am a snob ain't it John, if you know what I mean.   ;D ;D ;D

Which Glide are you lads having with this wand ?

Holed
Slotted
Hybryd   ?

And will you have the wand  "cut" on the lip so that the glide can be easily slid on or off ?

regards

Chris

I'm getting the slotted, and I usually fix them with instant gasket so the are nice and snug.

Hello Gents,
I made this wand to be a value priced item, some day I'll make a titanium version and might even make a few tweaks, but I got my money where my mouth is, if you don't think it's an excellent tool and one of the best buys in your career I will buy it back no questions asked.

I put every bell and whistle known on this wand, the valve is a pleasure to use, the solution line is teflon and stainless wrapped in urethane jacket, the jets are high flow and come with checkvalves and extenders to place the jet 1" from the carpet.
This allows for almost no heat loss and low humidity in the air, and they will not streak because of the angle I place the jet manifold at, which also allows for cleaning at a high pressure than normal which adds agitation and speeds rinsing.
Don't forget the rubber coated forward handle, valve trigger, and double thick rubber shrink wrap on the valve tube, it's not vinyl that slips when hot. Add to that an additional trip to the metal polisher for a finish that looks sharp and physically stay clean longer.

I can be so confident because the only wand that even comes close is the Titanium, and you would have to add $300 in upgrades to compare.

Hi, I am from Canada. The more you use these wands, the more you will love them. We had two titanium wands, but now they just collect dust. The Greenhorn produces amazing dry times and is not that much heavier. We later ordered a kit from Greenie to trick out the titanium, and it is closer in performance, but still not the same.

It seems many of you use a 12" for residential, is that for maneuverability or to keep the air flow concentrated? I have only used 14" up to now, but I am wondering about trying a 12" for even faster dry times. I would appreciate any input from those who have used both sizes. (Any wand not just the greenhorn.)

Every so often someone ask me about the weight, it jsut so happens the 14" WestPak and the Greehorn both weigh in at 10.35 lbs isn't that about 1 stone?

Its a good few pounds under a stone Jeff - 3.65 lbs under actually, which is a fair amount.
