-
5 years at 40 a month is only £2400
you sure its not 40 a week?

high price for same job system as most , system looks top though very pretty (designed buy a lady) does it warrent the 5k for looks i dont know, if i was going for looks of the system i would have got it yesterday my system makes me money simple looks not important safety 100% is, and from what I saw when they came to my house and showed me the tank is secured and looks the dogs, price tag was my problem same output elsewhere half the price just not the looks.

they look good but what use is that? I'm a firm believer in making your ..... errr....equipment, look good as it has the knock on effect of making you feel a lot more professional but surely the price is ott, you could buy a decent van and system for that money

looking professional is good, but at 5k more expensive for a set up from another comapany, I could have a plastic kit to my own design installed to the tank cage for alot less money. I aint knocking there system as it look great, price not so, some say you pay for what you get I have done alot of home work on this, and all use most of the same parts, some have a better sales pitch, there is another company that is worse for this . :-X

i take it hot water systems are the best as they will remove more dirt than a cold system. whats the basic info on these systems and who all sells them or the parts for them to make your own

Aztec,
Very good question, who has got a concept o2 system?
There used to be a sticky post at the top of the ciu forum about this. Mike Boxall the CIU sponsor and express cleaning owner has some kind of tie in so they are a highly reputable company.
A lot/(some) of people think their hot system is the best that money can buy. I think that, but I am not an expert.
From what I understand the hot system includes an LPG type tank conversion to feed the heater. If you had this done yourself it would be expensive, and there are exacting requirments to meet.
I believe that an infinity26i with a powered flue is used to heat the water. This is state of the art with a digital thermostat.
You get what you pay for. This is the best.
But.... your question stands, who has got a concepto2 system?

if I am right and I could be wrong express owner and ciu owner Mike is an agent/area seller or what ever you want to call it for concept20. this may have changed by now I dont know. I have had a system demo of this, looks the part for sure. price wise :-\

If you don't get any info from the people you want it from- and I would very much like to hear it too- I will give you my thoughts, and bring you up to what I think is speed on this subject in general.
Most people who look at these issues miss the whole point. A fully armed 02 is an undoubted money machine that can run two reels at hot and fly through work. The marketing impact is also a consideration. Running costs are markedly lower than diesel.
A retro fit for a hot diesel system is £2,500, but the higher running costs need to be considered

The Concept system is by far the best hot water one on the market. I think the Ionics one takes around 30 mins to heat up where this one is instant. It's pricey but its usually bigger companies who buy them so it's not that much of an issue. And they look awesome!
-
They are manufactured in Wales so presumably the majority are over there? I looked at one at Express Cleaning in the Malverns and it really was the biz. Not really the thing for a sole trader doing domestic but ideal for big commercial work where maybe image is more important. Too pricey for me but then so is Ionics.
-
they do look good, has anyone got one of these?
http://www.omnipole.com/pro%20systems.htm
as i was thinking of going for this?
-
Ive got the 450ltr omnipole, cant fault the system or the company, they know what they are on about, they have a w/c business, so practice what they preach.
-
I was at their premises on Friday, no i haven't got one! so not much help there!
But i am going to order a cold 600l system from them on Monday. I currently have an Ionics pro 5 system, and am setting up a second van, i think not only the quality of all the parts are much better, but the overall package, with marketing and the lower running costs are much better than other suppliers.
The fact that the hot system can be added at a later date is also a benefit, to spread the costs. The system runs on about 25% waste, so fill time in theory should be quicker. temp can be controlled +/- 1 c on hot systems, and hot in approx 90 secs.
I agree on the price, not cheap. But i was really impressed with the knowledge and research that had gone into sourcing quality parts etc.. The fitting is top notch standard aswell, as i watched them installing a hot system.
Some will tell you diesel is better, and Concept will say lpg!, at the end of the day it's still an extra running cost, and i believe would be ideal on those commercial jobs that are quarterly.
With Concept2o i am sure you will get more support in marketing etc. and a friendlier service than other supplier? I want a hot system but realistically cannot afford one at the moment :'(, Lets just say i've been converted! I will not begrudge handing over my hard earned money or as the dragons say "my childrens inheritance" ;D
I would be interested to see what the actual running costs are on average for a hot system compared to the claimed £5.50 a wk as these figures can be manipulated to suit as we all know!
-
Sorry, I must be missing something here.
Why would anyone need to spend £5000 or more on a system? ???
My entire kit cost me under £1000, and I'd like to see someone clean to a better standard or quicker.
Don't get me wrong, not I'm bigging myself up, but I can do a great job and spending silly money won't do a better one.
-
We are disscussing the concept 02 system squeaky.
For those interested it's a very interesting topic, if you're not that's fine, but why clog the thread up with negative loser type comments.
I run a hot lpg on demand system Newpie, slightly different to o2. I use 400l daily and this costs me about £2. Diesel I believe would be £6 or £7 daily.
I presume their hot has a second battery for the powered flue (diesels have batterys for the fuel pump), and an inverter. Do they do an actual lpg tank conversion too?
-
The cost of systems is regularly discussed on here!
Either there are alot of mugs out there cleaning windows, that waste money! OR there is a reason behind the choice of system.
Everyones business is ran differently, and different goals set etc. and various levels of investment.
I personally don't feel the need to justify my choice in system or cost, it's just the way i operate my business.
Just my humble opinion! and off topic!
-
What's the price difference between 600l hot and cold?
You can clean a lot faster. The results are perfect every time. The marketing is a different world.

I'd like to back up that offensive crap mate.
Why I'm I being negative or a loser?
Just because I'm smart enough not to get ripped off by big name companies?
I wanted to know why people would.
So come on Mr.Professional, tell me, then I can bow to your superiority.

Just looked at concept2o's web site, and they offer a franchise
Now express are selling the system, along with branding etc. Dont think i'd be happy buying a franchise of them, only to find someone in my area using the same branding as me when ive spent 1000's for it!!
Nice system though!!

That was what i was getting at the cost per litre of water used. Thanks for the info, so could you say £3 per day for 600litres. or £15 per 5 day week?
They do install an lpg tank conversion, again not cheap, but possible more economical long term?
NOT sure about the second battery, to be honest i forgot to ask as i'll be doing that at a later date. The cold runs purely off the van battery, no split charge or leisure battery. I was assured that even on covering short distances there will be enough charge in the battery, and no need for second battery.? Currently i run a split relay, but was informed that this is not a good idea as you are possibly only ever charging the 2 batteries by half?
I'm no expert so no comment on that, although it has suited my needs this way for the last year.

alot faster ? perfect everytime (think thats is way over the real truth) the marketing not so much different only a different angle.

I have leisure 110ah, professionaly installed split relay, plus proper charger every night.Like you I am no expert, but the electrical advise is not that generally accepted on here
I think there must be a second (or a first battery) for the powered flue and most probably an inverter because it is supposed to run off mains. Many garages now sell lpg from the pumps, partly for the number of conversions, but also because many of the polish workers drive lpg cars they've brought from home.
Your estimate of the cost is probably right. (£3/ 600l)I am talking about hot usage in cold weather. You can turn it down you can turn it off. When you see figures quoted for red diesel bear in mind where do you get it from? What I was told was the easiest way to have it delivered to a 1000l tank in my garden. I already have one 1000l ibcfor my water ashetically hidden. I doubt my wife would go along with a second tank for diesel.
I'm trying to find someone local to me who does these conversions. What I was told (luke) was that the tank goes where your spare wheel fits underneath and the diesel tank stays untouched.
Ian (WW), I used to think like that. I don't think that now, but equally i'm not trying to convince you. If you already have a good business which I'm sure you have, you don't need this. Your business will continue to grow and be successfull.
Remember I posted about leaflets and unique selling propostions and of the very few replies most thought they were unecessarry and the basic I CLEAN WINDOWS
was more effective. So I am prepared to be in a minority on this.

I would never say never to anything at this time it is not needed for me to be successfu in business, in the future who knows.
The leatlet post was confusing this is why IMO there were not many replies.

p.s nothing wrong with being the minority ;)

You once made a good point. You said this business is different from others because it is loyalty based.Additionaly a wc on here once said something like he 'd bought some work in an area that he had targeted, leafleted and canvassed over the years but with very little success. Now that he had the work the custies often commented that the old wc was useless and the new regime was much much better. None the less he had never been able to winkle any of the work away before buying it.
That's one view point, and a valid one. Another is that Dyson nearly put hoover out of business by marketing a bagless vacuum cleaner.
About the leaflet post, the percieved usp's said a lot. A liverpool cleaner said he was police checked, another thought friendly and reliable did it, another thought simple was better. Jeff Brimble had given it the most thought.

Jon I have Omnipole Hot water system great system
hey Ned,
cool - did you get it on finance for did you have enough bucks to buy it straight from?
im looking at getting this system, how long does it take to heat up? what sort of temperature does it get the water too? and what about hoses ? do you have a special hose thats ok with the heat? can you remove the tank and heating system easily enough incase you needed the van space for picking up something? id be interested to hear your veiws on this system, looks great.
Thanks
-
Jon got the system on finance ,heats to 60 in 5 mins ,using mircobore seems ok when it reachs the windows it about 30 degrees , once the systems in you cant take it out
-
would you say its worth having the hot water heater as part of the system? and what pumps are used? 1 or two? varistreams used?
what van do you have yours in? im not sure what to get yet
thanks
-
don,t the mob in grimsby sell a hot water system yet??
-
Well worth getting Hot water system they fitted new pump 80psi , fitted in Expert van ,it would be better in a long wheel based van for room
-
oh right, i was thinking a silver transit 330 lwb van medium high roof. Would be good.
Does the hot water evaporate quickly on the windows? so they are dry pretty much by the time youve packed up?
Then there wouldnt be any more problems with the customers moaning that the windows are left wet, and youd see the results straight away, much better for indoor commercial work too, i would like to think, does that happen though?
can i ask how much it costs you roughly per day, for deisel etc for the hot water system? or per week?
much appreciated thanks
-
Drys quicker wouldnt say that much quicker , better to clean with ,had a 450 litre system fitted first then had hot water unit fitted later , Running cost about 5 aweek for red diesel to run the water heater lease over 5 years cost about 140 a month , working time on about 40 hrs a week
-
