Title: Nail Varnish

Doing a job in morning in a childrens home (just a residential house adapted) and a problem child went mad with multiple nail varnishes all down the stairs. Custy did'nt think it would come up ok. Tis priced accordingly and will use lots of solvents based removers. Was thinking as a, a back up and b, a way of saving money, should I take some thinner to use. Carpet is a woven nylon super hard wearing (not bitumen backed) bast%$rd. Any views?

Hello

I recently had a simular problem, i managed to get rid of the Nail Varnish by just using a eco spotter, then give it a good rinse and repeating. But to be honest it is time consuming.

But it did all come out and the customer was very happy.

Extracta's multi purpose solvent spray, nylon or soft wire brass bristle brush, takes seconds.

If you havent got any of that go to the chemists and get some nail varnish remover, it does what it says on the can!!

Eco spotter in trigger spray ....................... worked recently on similar marks down 8 stairs ........... 100% gone  ;D

Craftex sell a cheap varnish remover i think from memory its called Acetone. Solval and ecospotter very good too.

Hi Guys

Acetone is the solvent usually used on nail varnish, you can get it from most supermarkets.

Just to add to Dougs post, Prochem sell tone in an aerosol.  Gluespot remover if i rem right and it works a treat on nail varnish.

Used a mixture of solvent based stuff and got about 99% of it out. Custy could'nt believe it. Neither could I as there must have been at least 100 different spots ranging from a couple CM square to a foot square. Custy for life me thinks (and it's only a 1 minute drive from my gaff).

Thanks as always for the advice. Dougs was the most useful answer but it was a bit late. Still I know for next time.
