Hi
finally got my RO running today after making my box etc for IBC.
the ro pure is just running now 2 clean the filters its a purefeedom RO its running out of the pure pipe very slow? its done 1 litre of water in 5mins it that a normal amount or will i need a booster pump on that? what is the average for 300GPD ro
Any help pleaseee :'(

My 200GPD on 60ish psi does 1ltr in 4 to 5 mins (much faster in the summer)
Depends what your water pressure is? It will make a big difference.
-
hmm am unsure of the pressure but my bathroom tap pressure feels alot harder than the tap outside. when i mean harder i mean if you put ur hand under the tap!!
surely a litre 12 literes an hour is not enuf for a days work?
-
can anyone else help?

can you run a hose from a different tap just to see ?
also you dont have a tap kit that cuts the pipe by any chance do you ? I had one total nightmare

Dave, Ihave the same ro as you and mine just trickles out as well, was told to give it a week or so and it will get quicker which I suppose it has but still very slow(about 20 ltres an hour) off a tds of 450ish.
Took me a few days to fill the ibc and a few drums, but I dont do windows all the time otherwise id be stuffed, hopefully when weather warms things will improve.
Maybe rainwater harvesting is the way to go or a 40 40.

as it happens yes there its one of those outside tap kits that cuts the hole in the pipe itsself then u fit your tap outside? lol crap are they?? would it be best to change that then see what happens? i spose then i could get a booster pump if it was still not producing enuf water.

Thanks stu, will keep eye on it once set up properly

288 ltr/day is fine for me, just have it running all week into a 1000 ibc.
It obviously depends how much you get through?
-
i get about 10.4 litres an hour or 250 litres per 24hours from my purefreedom 300gpd system, like you the water pressure is low but yours seems extremely low! How about a pressure gauge from ebay that fits on the end and see what pressure it is?
my pressure is low, but if i leave it on for several days in a row its fine filling the 1000ltr ibc, i use about 200 litres a day so its ok for me, you could get about 1000ltrs in 24 hours with a decent booster pump, like the one from ro man 24 7 one, though its not necessary for me.
mines for sale now anyway

Thanks Jon,
It does feel low but my bathroom tap does good presure. My outisde tap is connected to a pipe with one of those self cutting tap kit things which i will change that see what it produces if its still low may invest into a booster pump :-\
I mite try and get a presure gauge too.
I didnt really want to leave it on 24/7 tbh

I had a self cutting tap kit and flow was restricted I then installed 15mm copper and was sorted.

Thanks WW
Will change that over weekend see what happens.#

I have changed my tap from one of those self cutting ones to 15mm pipe and it makes one litire about 8 seconds faster now lol.

Dave,
Get the pump....it will increase the psi to your tank...produce more pure and better for the TDS reading....
I have one of these pumps myself, nice and quite...my psi is set around 60 plus or more if I need to...

Oh right :-\ lol what RO are you using? then again i spose ur pressure is alot better than mine so its going through faster hence 20tds.
Thanks for tellin us 2 change tap anyway i filled bucket of water up before which i do everyday from that tap and its soo much faster. So hopefully booster bump should sort the problem out id be happy with just 20 odd litre per hour lmao but not 10 :'(
