Actually i've been a bit poorly lately - i found myself on the Facelift website the other day enquiring over the price of a carbon pole! I don't know whats happening!
Actually i've got my name down for Alex's new one because everything sounds right and Alex seems a pretty straight guy to deal with. I am slightly worried that the design might be slightly rushed - we will see. Still using my fishing pole for everyday use - bargain! It does seem a little bendy now and the joints are beginning to wear. But i'm so glad i didn't take your advice and spend all my money last year ;D

That pole has not been rushed, far from it.I can remember speaking to Kirsty about it way back last year and it`s been tested for months,i`ve seen the prototype pole and even init`s test form looks a really good pole, the finished article will be pure class.By the way it`s like a broom handle as far as ridgidity goes.

No, i have to say your advice nearly a year ago, was with hindsight pretty good on the whole, you had a strange way of explaining it mind!

NWH the reason was that it was a very short time ago that we thought the S2 extensions would be used but not now. Alex has explained all in an excellent thread which made me wonder why it was not spotted far earlier. I'm sure it will be fine.

The reason we've had a fairly late change on the extension idea for the SL-X is that the extensions were not really a priority in my mind.  The pole itself needed to be spot on, it was only due to customer request that we came up with the idea of an add-on extension in the first place.

The original idea would have worked and we could have produced them very easily.  However, we wanted all of the pole including the extensions to be a long term working proposition and the flaws in the original extension idea would have only been noticeable in the long term, not for the first 3-4 months.  We presume that people buying the new SL-X will be expecting to get more than 3-4 months use out of it  :)
