I would say dont put anything about min charge, you want to get calls, then quote them.
I see window cleaners flyers all the time says a price like £5 for this house makes me laugh.
I know thats not your point but IMO I would stay away from price of any type on advertising unless you are only after the large properties that will be way over £10 a pop, if you are then min charge of £10 would be ok I guess

You may want a timeless flier instead of one that easily dates. You could always handwrite your price.
-
I would never put a price on a leaflet, mainly because you will frighten some customers away.
When they call, including the £5.00 brigade, the first thing that you do is sell yourself and your company.
Doing it this way you can convince the £5.00 customer that you are well worth paying £10.00 or more because of the services that you offer.

How do you get on Pingu, you must have put out more than any of us ?
-
your right william i think ill leave it out and just deal with them as they phone, the only problem with advertising in papers is the work i get is usually spread out all over the place so the minimum charge would help cover petrol/driving time-thanks all for the replies

Tell them once they call about minimum charge at least that way they will call ;)

Just like Dyno Drains slick 4 seconds charges presentation, then ask your address. and car sales " calls and charges apply " etc
-
Never advertise your price, the main reason custies fone of a leaflet is to ask how much!
Even then i still dont give them a price until i see the house.
To a customer you need to sell the service to them so they have a price in thier heads thats more than your going to quote!!
I used to sell timeshare, same thing applied...used to pitch them for 3-6 hours and price condition them to the price of the holiday so they thought it was more than it really is....
This way you can get some really good work at good prices!!!

Have you tried newspaper ads before? I only ever tried once, and found it to be a very expensive waste of time.
A newspaper has a shelf life of 1 - 7 days then it's binned, if you don't get a response in those few days it's money down the drain.
I prefer to advertise in YP - 24/7 365/year coverage.
I only need 3 or 4 results to cover the cost, then I'm in profit.

PS to above, I never tell my minimum until I go to quote. I've got lots of tiny five minute houses at £10 each
It's all about how you sell yourself and your service.
